My favorite song by 30 seconds to mars~
I just imagined editing to this song to be very different, it was a good effort though. The end fight scene was really well done~

def, thanks!Otohiko wrote:Hey, I like your simpler stuff, make more of it! There's definitely a few flaws with this video in terms of pacing and some sorta-lazy editing, but there's also lots of very good stuff. Ditch the strobes and tighten up the editing a little, but keep this sort of style for future reference.
A solid 4/5 video if I had to put a number on that.
ah thanks, not sure how much of what you saw was intentional, but I do tend to find creative ways to sync something to the lyrics thats not normal ;pgotuhjanks wrote:maybe not storylike, but i felt a really complex interpretation of the lyrics is what i meant >_<

Thanks, gotta say didn't expect this kinda comment from you, being one of the more critical editors on the org ;pLockstock wrote:This is the best video I have seen in quite a while now. Well done.
yea I personally like the end better too, where most of the internal sync is at.Shatterd wrote:Whoa great job i really likes the amv i didnt like certain parts of it but tword the end it was good.I like the effects and the song worked really good with the video goodjob.
Thanks, as I said with my reply to gotuhjanks, my clip selection doesn't always sync in most people's normal methods, I often come up with creative ways to sync a lyric to a clip that may not be so obvious on the surface, when there isn't a better clip available to use for the story. i also tend to favor a more continuous story in the visuals rather than trying to explicitly follow the story of the song.EkaCoralian wrote:Well I can never pass up an E7 AMV. ^3^

EDIT: Hm... it wasn't really my cup of tea per se, but that doesn't mean it was bad. I liked the light flashes at the beginning, and especially the timed flashing from 0:53 - 0:55 , but I just couldn't get into it all that much. It might've been some of the clip selection: I tend to listen to lyrics a lot and compare them to the clips used when watching AMVs, so clip selection always ends up being a large factor when I rate or comment on an AMV.
Nice work, though.
I did warn about the spoilers ;p but thanks for checking it out anyway ;pIleia wrote:Ah, it seems you have the curse that I do...losing project stuff from AWA videos.....it's happened to me every year but one! The video itself didn't really stand out to me, but it did present the story well enough. Also, shame on you for forcing me to watch a spoilerific video so that I could judge it fairly. Shaaaaame.
yea I kinda see it now, specially in the beginning. some of the cuts are off by a few frames. awell, perhaps it may get fixed if i find the project files, but perhaps not. we'll see.Kevmaster wrote:I thought Joey was being just a fag, but this is def off-timing. Also didn't seem like a Deshi vid considering It could have been one of those videos people send me on youtube.
Thanks, the end fight scene is the part I had the most fun editing ;pTearx wrote:My favorite song by 30 seconds to mars~

That was pretty awsm overall. I liked the mood you set throughout the video and most of the editing. Some of the sync seemed strange, like the beginning with the fast flashing, maybe could of done something more fitting here and there. The screaming parts lacked emotional intensity IMO but the mood was still there at least. Still enjoyed it for the most part.
4/5
I don't know if anyones brought it up with you or if you care but your thread title spells Eureka wrong just so ya know, not that it matters or anything.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Nuh UH. I meant judging as in when I was judging it for Master's. No spoiler warnings there!Bakadeshi wrote:I did warn about the spoilers ;p but thanks for checking it out anyway ;pIleia wrote:Ah, it seems you have the curse that I do...losing project stuff from AWA videos.....it's happened to me every year but one! I actually really liked this. It made me want to edit to E7 again. Too bad that you lost the project because this could of been better.
Anyways, good job Deshi.
