I seeing both threads and understanding the fact, Still don't get why you selfpimped so much. Maybe a comment like "wow, watch that" or something woulda been justified.

But forsomeone whom hammered me so much for two accounts, atleast I never selfpimped.

1) There was no precedent for the multiple account rule at the time (except for forum trolling) - it came in a little later for amvs.

2) There's no point putting in effort in hope of feedback without feedback - the videos would have fallen to obscurity without the occasional bump from respected people.

3) It's not hard to work out it was me - the name is an anagram of Ian Roberts AbsoluteDestiny and the site was hosted on the same account as my own.

4) The whole site administration knew and were ok with it. Had you, Ryan, actually asked me if you could have a new persona I think I probably would have let you at the time... it's just the later lying about it that got me annoyed with you.

Actually let me explain a little bit more about site rules.

Let's take for example the "Don't use downloaded footage rule". Do we proactively enforce that rule? No. Why not? Well, you see it's like the Pirate's Code - they are more like guidelines.

The multiple accounts rule is there so we have something to use when people are using multiple accounts for

a) trolling
b) avoiding pledge default penalties

We aren't going to go around eliminating every single duplicate account, it's there as an insurance policy.

There are times when creating a new account may be considered useful. If a member was being stalked or harrassed in some way we would allow a second account in an instant. The rule is not a be all and end all - I'm not going to go an ban the person who I know created the SquirrelEdward account because it was fair play. It wasn't done in malice and it hasn't been used for any other rule infringement to my knowledge.

As for self aggrandisement, the dino accounts have not been used for giving ourselves ops nor have we left opinions on the dino videos. Leontes left an opinion on A/VExperiments to show that the video was appreciated by the dinosaur imitators.

Hopefully people will see that this was done purely for fun and this isn't some elitist conspiracy. The administration are aware of many other similar jokes and have turned a knowing blind eye in the benefit of good fun. If someone abuses multiple accounts they get in trouble, but when something is done in good fun (provided we are warned about it and it doesn't hurt anyone) then... well, there's no harm done.

Enjoy the dino videos for what they are, a bit of fun.

I on the otherhand didnt have anyof the three, hence even though I went around it the wrong way, I still had a justified reason for doing what I did (imo) you, i have NO clue why you just didnt release them in your name or under like DINOSOARSTUDIOS or something.

I dunno. I don't mean to cause trouble or anything. Just seems moronic to me.

That's the thing... I turned a blind eye to your account duplication for a good MONTH. However, it finally became a hot controversial issue on the forum so I confronted you with it. You then lied to me despite the fact that I knew you had faked the account.

Had you, at the start asked me (like I did with Phade) if you could make a duplicate account I would have said yes (if it were my choice to make back then). However you, like me, have to face up to it if it is revealed (like my account was).

...and... you know... this was a joke... your account wasn't.

I think part of what he's saying is that "for a laugh" IS a good reason.
