Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Yes. Except that most of them aren't so obviously experienced with other fora: they usually have worse grammar, worse punctuation, and less eloquence in their insults.
I feel that was directed tword me Scintilla

*wonders if this constructive comment got lost in all the flaming*

Oh and this is the internet we get all sorts here.
>_<

My old anime party amv was actually made using divx encoded footage.
You wouldn't believe the horror of editing with over 400 divx clips on the timeline >_<

oh yeah..
Yo mama so stupid that under "Education" on her job apllication, she put "Hooked on Phonics."

Mmm, would it have helped people to take me less seriously if I'd've started it,
I am God, and this is My new Naruto AMV

Bet you didn't know that I was a Naruto fan. Why else would I have allowed so many of My parishioners to fall from My church and worship this new god named after what comes on top of ramen?

Indeed, he is more worthy of worship than I - all hail the new God, Naruto Uzumaki! And look upon My tribute to him - this video!

Did that once. ^_^ Obviously not with an AMV, but same basic approach.

And yes, I was editing with divX - it was all I had. Actually, bob64's advice about having a bad codec was spot-on, and now I have a nice, shiny version sitting on my computer. Looks, well, perfect. Just gotta cut out a couple of frames that I THOUGHT were bad pixellation, but were actually leftover frames.

And as far as the one subtitle that remained - I tried cropping the clip, but it literally wrecked the clip - wouldn't play at all. Tried it again just now, and same thing happened.

And, as I said, my next video will have summat more original content; all I wanted to do was learn how to use the program and edit, get criticism about what I've done wrong, fix what was wrong, and then move on.

I should mention that, if you want, you can leave a note in the Mod Drop Box to request to have a thread you started be locked, and they will take care of it in short order.

That is, unless it's the weekend of AWA.

YA SRSLY. TEH INTERNETS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.
For a guy with a large vocabulary, you sure can make amvs with the box fx. This vid reminds me of an amv that was made with some of the same scenes and ironically enough, had the box fx as well. Who made the vid, I ain't got the slightest clue, but it had subs and seems the creator just threw it together in five minutes or so. I actually enjoyed it a lil for some reason, probably because of the song. Another thing about it, there were some significant action syncs and an attempt at lip synching.
I actually enjoyed that vid moreso than this one, but I think it may be due to the song choice. I could care less for Bon Jovi. They are actually very similiar in many aspects. Their ceators, however, are probably very different. One, most likely a n00b stereotype of some sort (but I can't really judge not knowing the creator) and one with a large catagory of words. Did the n00b get flamed and all that other stuff? Hell I'm not even sure he even been here. But considering he has and posted his vid that is similiar, would he get the same critizism as you? I guess it would depend who that person is, which I ain't got the slightest clue. But most likely his announcement would go unheaded and drift away in the back pages of the announcements.
Now I haven't read all the words this person with a large number of words typed down, but I'm guessing he never read any of the guides, which ironically enough there was already an easy guide of lip synching, as well as action and technical guides every editor who is serious in the amv community should have read. The point I'm trying to get to here is that, it seems the similarities they share is not reading the guides. And the differences is probably and most likely their attitudes. I'm not saying that people with big vocabularies and types alot are going to be heavily critizised, it would depend on his attitude. Of course one with a big ego is going to be flamed and such is much to be expected.
You may also want to keep in mind that TEH INTERNETS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

ps. I propbably fail for not posting that pic
pss I autofail for the ps above : /

Seriously, it will help to convert DivX into something else before you edit with it, as Scintilla suggested. And a little advice in the form of a metaphor: if you don't want a dragon to BBQ you, don't poke it in the eye. Do you catch my drift?

I'm too lazy to read all this stuff, but it seems funny still.
