Well I thank you very much for making the vid. I’ve wanted to see some decent soul eater vids lately. This has definitely put the anime on my to buy list. Anyways, do u still have the project file? u could render a version without all the collour stuff and up it, dunno, or at least a less-seizured one. I don't mean to satisfy the ppl who critic it, but maybe making a version that's watchable for ppl who have probs with the collours stuff (like u examples, ppl with epelepsy or whatever way it is writen) would be pretty nice

I actually did make a color-less version, but effects besides the colorized ones (linear blurs, etc) made the video look really strange and more unnatural than with the colors imo. I wasn't that satisfied with it so i don't think i'll take the time to render an entirely new version without the colors cause thats not how the amv was meant to be anyway ^^ thanks for the suggestion though!

I'm glad I watched it before I read the negative comments. I thought it knew exactly what it was trying to be, and did it to a tee. Seriously, I don't see why people complain about a lack of story when it's not ment to be there in the first place, good editing is most important. I thought this video was engaging and probably one of the best action vids I've seen in '08.

That's a loaded statement really. Good editing is a culmination concept, sync, and purpose. Story can be categorized under concept, of which this has a shallow one. Not saying that is good or not.. just pointing it out.



On the video though, pretty sure I already said this to Chii. It's a good video, but it lacks really anything that makes it stand out, even as an action video. IE: The song and the editing isn't dynamic in anyway. Cool looking anime though.

Perhaps that was a missuse of generalizing "editing" on my part, but to specify, I ment that a video which succeeds in sync and purpose will almost always be better than a video with just concept. Because even if you have the best concept in the world, the actual "editing" is all you have to convay it. If the editing is bad, the concept won't come through and the amv will suck. If there's no concept but good editing, it can still be enjoyable. I know that an amv with concept and good editing will usually trump either of those, but sometimes I think people overstate story's importance.
