Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

It looks good in 60 fps, enough to make me go "Oooo...purty!"

Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer it when it comes to the anime itself driving the AMV, not so much the effects, and it felt like the effects were the showcase this time around, it dominated the feel of the vid, the anime was just along for the ride.

However, I still must say a great effort, one day I might get as skilled in using the more complex applications, but I'm now taking my first couple steps...

8/10 (The majority of the marks being lost to me on lack of reviewability, it doesn't feel like a video I can still enjoy watching after the 10th time).

The use of futuristic effects is really not of my taste. It was well done but I would have prefered not to have them, but that's just me (and a few others apparently). Though, the rest of the video is great! Really nice timing, and the 60 fps can do no harm. Nice music and scenes choice, well done!

Maybe, but I thought it'd lack a connecting idea, just random action scenes. The way it is there're still random action scenes, of course, but with a common idea between them.
Niotex wrote:Two other things that sort of bug me [but aren't video breakers] is for one the lack of interpolating frames ala twixtor or something similar. A lot of the main key scenes still seem to have double frames. And having those slightly interpolated would have probably made the video all that much smoother.
That's true, I didn't twixtor everything. The reason is simple- it looked like crap sometimes so I had to turn it off. I don't like interpolated frames anyway, and made this vid in 60fps for 2 reasons: to try it and to get more room for my own graphs and so.
Niotex wrote:The other thing that bugged me a little was the highly contrasted menu's compared to the video. I understand your choice for separating the color palette of the menu vs source. But it rips the overall color palette apart too much. Corpse Princess mainly consists of blue, purple, red and orange. Which doesn't mesh well together with green. Then again this could strictly be my personal taste.
You're not the first one to say it, and I agree that it may look creepy in some way, though there's a lot of color correction over the source so that original colors doesn't matter that much imo. Thanks for such a detailed feedback!

I hate useless effects myself, and I tried to put the required minimum to make this vid look consistent.

It seems I'll have to make a no-effects version of this one 8-)

Thanks for your comments, everyone!
