Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Either way, if project is off or not, i'm still finishing it.
I bet more people will be interested eventually.
No no no no no no no no no no no! ^_^;; I'm not ending the project. No worries.
dwchang wrote:I think also we need deadlines and stuff like that. Looking at the website you have stuff about the summer/fall/spring and whatnot being busy, so it doesn't look like we'll be finished with this for a good year. Correct me if I'm wrong (b/c then we can all get started earlier). As for characters, I'm sure the ones that are interested would be willing to do doubles...if no one else wants to do one.
Yeah, possibly a year. Maybe less, if I can get myself set up quickly after I move. But you can get started right now, if you wanted too, like Wang already has. :P The only real changes that are gonna happen project-wise (from what I can tell at this point) is me getting the high-quality version of the song once I can get the CD. I was hoping to get it at Sakura-Con last week but I only had $40 when the CD was $45. SO CLOSE!!!

Hai, hai. I first gotta finish up my second ACen vid, then my NES Project vid and finally my AWA Pro vid. Given I'll be done with all that by July, so if the project is really delayed that far, I should be fine. As for that song, I have a fairly good quality version of the song if you need it.

192 kbps at 44 kHz. I got it from a friend who owns the soundtracks. PM me if you'd like...don't wanna go posting links to things and such.

Suggestion

Post by dwchang » Fri Apr 11, 2003 7:38 pm

Instead of doing the entire song, I suggest stopping a little bit after Strago's part (timestamp: 10:56). This ends on a really nice high note that fades out. Also this will minimize the number of editors we need.

To use all 22 minutes is a bit excessive and will require quite a few editors (even more than Mission Improbable or the DDR Project). Also, like I said, I think it ends nicely at 10:56. I also think it's hard to keep the viewer interested for over 10 minutes and whatnot. Mission Improbable was around 8 minutes and I think it was just right

Just a suggestion since you mentioned that there isn't as much interest.

What I would personally like to do when/if I get the CD is to rip it at the highest quality (320kbps or 256kbps) at 44khz, then post them instead of the low-quality versions that are up at the moment.

If you do, could you rip it with those settings I just mentioned? It'd be awesome if you could and I'd greatly appreciate it. The CD that has the ending theme on it is the 3-disc soundtrack with the white case cover.

Yeah, I was considering this and seeing what you've said about other multi-editor projects makes me realize that people's attention span will probably get low after so long. What I was thinking of doing after the actual character segments is roll the credits while the credits section of the ending theme plays. During that time, we could have depictions of the anime characters going home after a well-fought battle or something along those lines. I'm just worried this won't make any sense to the viewers. Bah >< All I'm really trying to do is put as much of this song in as I can, to display the real magic it shows, as it does in the game itself.

If it comes down to it, I'll do the last parts of the song. How, I dunno, but it's possible. :P
