- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

This is because you people wouldn't know good drama/sentimental/romance, or any combination thereof, even it up and bit you in the ass, unless, as you say, it's zOMG kewp.leahzero wrote:Agreed.vivaldiscool wrote:I also think that if the Koop hadn't made this, it wouldn't have made it past one or two pages. (And certainly not over night.) And that there's a fair amount of sentimental amvs out there of the same quality.
5/10
You're damned right if this video hadn't been made by Jay, it would not be getting the love fest it is now, and to me that just proves how the org's level of maturity is appalling these days.
Get off my lawn, and stop playing in my petunias, friggin ritalin-requiring, ADD addled freaks.

Time for more replies... no quotes this time though, kinda just doing a mass reply.
First, that other video is comin... someday >_>
To autraya, sorry, but maybe someday. |:
To guy, adding her childhood would've made it too complex cause of her sister, who I did not feel was emphasized anyway in the show.
To straight cut man, yes I stood up while doing this.
To anti-flow people, watch the show and you'll see what I was mimicing. Like I said in my video description, it's meant to be this way, much like how the show was. It's so easy to make a video to hit beat after beat with a straight cut, crossfade, or some flashy overlay. I've made enough slow sentimental videos to know this. Let's say perhaps that I did just hit every beat and only on every beat with some kind of scene transition, that would've been really boring and very predictable. Sometimes you gotta try something different, or even more basic to keep things interesting. Actually, there was a moment in the show that pretty much admits that. A crossfade IS an effect and I think it has been abused too much nowadays. So many videos just don't even try anymore with their blatant overuse of them that it becomes just a garbled mess of imagery layered on top of each other. I'm not saying that my video is anywhere near perfect, but its a start.
To leah, I felt the same way about the show when I started watching it (read the video description). I almost didn't finish watching it myself - so its not just you, and nor was out to fool you about how the show actually is.
To anti-koop sentiment, I can't help that my past always bring about hype, but in all honesty, a lot of the people that have posted on this thread and most of my other threads are people I've met and talk to over the years. I appreciate that they come out to leave a comment (or rather I force them with bribes.. of sandwiches?) and that kinda snowballs into others leaving a comment too, I think. It's had its consequences for sure as I've been hated on nearly as much, but its ok.
Thanks all for the comments.

Well said. Much respect for daring to do something different from the new norm. On second thought I can admire the clarity and simplicity in this video, whether or not it's to my taste overall. Keep following your vision.Koopiskeva wrote:A crossfade IS an effect and I think it has been abused too much nowadays. Not so much anti-koop as anti inner circle. (one of the reasons I first "liked" the org is because I thought is wasn't quite as caught up in cliques and things )Like you said it's a snowball thing,Though the fact that all the "regulers" seem to send a beta to everyone and their mothers, seems to help I decided to make a comment on the "naruto-no giving up" thread that I'm fairly sure would've past by with out a single reply, now it's almost got a full page. :/ But however it's done there needs to be more credit where credit's due, not necessarily away from you, but certinly more to them.Koopiskeva wrote: To anti-koop sentiment, I can't help that my past always bring about hype, but in all honesty, a lot of the people that have posted on this thread and most of my other threads are people I've met and talk to over the years. As to the thing about cross fades, I do see how it's mimicing the series, and it didn't really feel that off kilter since usually it landed on a subbeat, but since the cuts were unpredictable and sharp, it gave a feeling of tension. A fade can be used to ease and release the tension, but, while there was a few, it just felt like a couple extra here and there would ease things up. When I finished watching I wasn't really tense per say, but I certinly wasn't relaxed, which is odd for a sentimental video. I do think it's a really good idea, it just needs more experimenting with.

Not to de-rail the thread, but as far as the whole "inner circle" thing goes (and I put high emphasis on the quotation marks), people seem to think that it's some sort of big like conspiracy or something, when in fact, we're just friends with eachother. That's all there is to it. When a friend of yours sends you an IM and says "hey I finished my video here's the link to the forum post," you're probably gonna go and post in it. That. Is. It. If you feel more comfortable using the term "clique" or "circle," whatever. But the vast majority of us are good people who enjoy good AMV's regardless of who makes them.
That being said, yeah, I agree that if this hadn't been Jay's video, the likelihood that the thread would've grown this big so fast is quite low, and I'm sure Jay understands that. But again, people know him, and thusly it's bound to draw an audience. It doesn't mean that videos that don't get 6 pages of replies within a day suck or are any less deserving. It's just the nature of the beast.
