yea it not me boasting persay, but it kinda irritates me for it to be called "poorly edited" when i know its not, sure i'll take it being called average, but to be shut down as if its garbage? i don't like that. and yea i know it can be improved but im satisfied with it.

Timing, Clean cuts, and the mood of your clips are everything. and yea sometimes random clips help....as filler of course lol

I'm sure that from your perspective that video is way worse than yours. But in reality yours isn't much better. Lets say an amv is like a lego creation, with the clips being blocks. It's a bunch of little blocks put together to make something greater than they were individually. Lets take those same exact blocks and just throw them all in a bucket. They're still the same blocks but they are now just blocks. Maybe some of them are cooler than the rest (those so-called "awesome" edits of yours) but they still aren't being used for anything. Your editing is like that. Just a bucket of legos.

Those "awesome" parts of your video? the fact that you singled them out is proof enough of your inexperience. Editing should not be a parade of cool edits that have nothing to do with each other. Once again my video game analogy will aide me.

Take a fighting game. An experienced player does not view each attack his character can do on it's own. He groups them into combos. Each attack will lead naturally into another attack and then another. An inexperienced player will just find the flashiest moves he can and use them on their own. That's pretty much what you're doing in this video.

I know I'm just saying the same thing a different way but I will keep doing so until you get it.

I think that its about time that this thread died. Everything that can be said, has been said. Everyone that would be willing to say it, has said it. This thread already has 82 post.......it really doesn't need any more.

And on a side note, its a bit ironic that this thread has so many post. Anyhow, as for the video, I didn't watch all of it (but I love the music) but from what I saw, it was okay. I liked the overlapping dialogue in the beginning. I thought it fit, except the background noise from the anime clips wasn't good Soul Eater is cool and all, but I don't think it fit well with the other anime. Some of the clip choice was really nice, but most of the time it felt random-- I just don't think it was executed as well as it could have been. Wasn't a fan of most of the effects either. It didn't hold the same intensity as the songs. Nice effort though. I like the dedication. [/quote]

2. I'm happy you like your own work, I really am, That's what this hobby is about, but take our advice to make yer work better if you really care about it.
3. "Because I know good when I see it" "good" is an opinion, so you never really KNOW good.

Scholarship? I wouldn't count on it. Unless the animation companies and the record label teamed up to form a scholarship program specifically for making a video with these sources, I sincerely doubt you could get a scholarship for making this video. Not that contests like that don't happen ( http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... =5&t=85847 ) but they don't generally give you money for using what belongs to them (exceptions made for those who work for them ). Usually you just get "You won! We will use this, thanks for a free promo." or a free DVD, CD, etc.

Seriously though, I'm surprised NS has put up with you for so long. I'd of /ragequit by now (thats of course if I cared enough to try to convince you which I don't).

This is bad. Subs, quality, length, editing, size... (I didn't get very far at all so my judgements are based off the first minute or so though I doubt it changes any throughout) so many problems. If you don't plan to take into account what other people say then all I can say worth anything to you is "good" luck in your future amv endeavors.

Watch some amvs by the people that didn't like yours, maybe you will will understand their comments more, or just go cruising looking for amvs that have "gooder" ratings.

yea i thought this was pretty boring, there were some interesting parts but for the most part it was dull and because i know the show it looked like it was barley edited...2 stars but i'll check out some other amv's by u later and tell you what i think.
