Re: [AMV] - Around the world
/grabs the shinzo hawtness
EDIT: I was kind of dissapointed.
I think the main issue with me personally is that it was kind of a convoluted speed fest. I mean, I know the song called for higher paced editing, but everything just kind of FLEW BY me, giving me no time to immerse myself in the story or have any connections with the many [and I mean MANY] characters. Plus, the integration of the real music video didn't have any real merit, except to exploit the cool toys the guy has. An editor did this with the original song, and I really liked it a lot because while it had the same concept as yours, it gave us time to seep into each of the "worlds" the song artist wants us to delve into.
I mean, I realize the purpose of the AMV was to be zany dancing fun, but even dance AMV's can have a plot and story about it, or let us connect with the characters in the video.
I think the real flaw behind it was that there was just plain too many anime in it. Had it been cut down to about 10 or less, and more focus on a handful of characters, rather than a billion, and the video would have been much more friendly to watch.
I also REALLY didn't like the remix. At all. And I usually love EVERYTHING that has a beat.
3/5

Re: [AMV] - Around the world
scene wise it didn't feel like it was anything new.Yes it was a remix with Owl City (which is good, I would have died if it was the original song so you get points for that), but i seemed like it was a bunch of Openings sped up. Editing was alright, but it seemed as if things were a bit too chaotic to grasp anything.
EDIT: just re watched it, and want to add something. That section with the Angel Beat's chick playing and the guy on the Piano(collage of piano stuff) is pretty neat

i liked it, i know a lot of people are sticklers for storyless vids around here, but sometimes you need to just go all out and not give a fuck about anything deeper than colors and moving parts.
the only thing i didn't like so much was all the piano scenes...seemed way repetitive and was just like "okay...let's move on now shall we?" because it kind of took you out of the experience.

I enjoyed it for the most part, I agree with everyone else that said some of the scenes felt random but it didn't bother me too much because the editing made up for it. A lot of the scenes were straight sexy when you put it together. I'm also glad you used a remix, I'm not a fan of the original version. Overall good work 4/5
