{DoS-xDreww) - Irreplaceable
A quick birthday video I made for a friend. Made in a day, I had this song in my mind with Bokura Ga Ita for awhile, so I kind of had in mind how I wanted it to turn out. Anyway enjoy.

First of all, let me say that you captured the atmosphere AMAZINGLY. Its the first video that used this anime that actually made me want to check it out [which I WILL be doing so!]. I was perfectly paced and really well executed. It was also a "fairly unique" story in that it was soley focused on the relationship and not the characters. 100% of the scenes was hugging/kissing/embracing, and it showed them as their relationship was evolving and changing. That was something I thought was really well executed [although probably unintentional, I read WAY too much into these things].
Overall, it's a keeper for me. IT reminds me a lot of my own slow style of editing, with more of a dramatic flair, which is something that I LOVE to see. It was something I genuinely enjoyed and something that I'm sure your friend was VERY happy to receive as a birthday gift.

Wow thanks a lot for your comment, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you also thought about where I was going with the video, I tried my best to keep the pace of the video on target while using the right scenes to fit. This is one of my favriote animes so I kind of get the feel for it. She loved the video btw, almost cried. hehe Thanks a lot for the comment Code. Glad to see your continuing watching my videos.CodeZTM wrote:First of all, let me say that you captured the atmosphere AMAZINGLY. Gosh that was so beautiful, it made me all teary. ;__;
But yeah I agree with what Code said about the atmosphere. That was just FANTASTIC. I was mesmerized by it after the first minute or so and couldn't stop watching. At first I was going to complain about the slower pacing nearer the end of the video where the beats were kinda high but you used mostly static scenes with minimal camera movement but then after re-watching I understood why you kept it slow paced there because I can feel the dramatic feel in it better. Well done Drew! You really did justice to the song and the anime! ^^ Oh and I also really like the colouring. :3 I'm glad I went for the download for this because now I can keep a nice shiny copy on my laptop.
ANYWAYS IN SHORT, I LOVEEE IT! AND LIFEHOUSE TOO!
I reckon this is my current favourite from you Drew. I'm sure your friend would love this as a birthday present.

Very adorable. I really liked how you used a lot of (for lack of a better description) 'mirror' clips. If I can explain that to the best of my ability, I liked how if you showed the guy you'd then show the girl, usually on the opposite side of the screen (which I know would have been in the source material anyway but... yeah...). That really helped a unification for the entire video so I really felt I was watching a relationship; not just two seperate people but people bound by WARM AND FUZZY FEELINGS!
My one critique is how bright the entire video was. A bit hard on the eyes after a while.
The warm and fuzzy will remain after blindness, though, so I still give you an "awesome job" for this video.
