The Sixth Sense
This was my first video, so some good criticism would be lovely. For my first video, I am glad it made it into CTcon but I know it could be better.

Re: The Sixth Sense
Congrats on finishing your first video! Here's my criticism of it.

The first thing that really leaped out at me that you did correctly was creating a cast of characters that were consistently used as the same character. Yuske as one and Kuabara as another did a great job of creating a trailer feeling. The lip sync was pretty well done and really matched well with the mouth movement.
You also did a good job of showing off all the dead people in the series.
However, I felt like the scenery didn't match the feeling of the video at all of the times. The little boy being cast as a punk teenager just really didn't make me feel a connection with that character. Yuske's character was fine, but Kuabara just didn't feel like he was the right person for that casting. At the same time, the comedic bits of the video (Kuabara's reactions) felt more funny than serious/dramatic.
I was a tad disappointed at the lack of text/trailer items. No opening green screen with a promotion for the MPAA? No title/release date like at :56 when they say the title? To me, most trailer videos need SOMETHING to show us that they're trailers. It's not always necessary, but I think it might have helped your cause.
speaking techincally, the black boarders around the video were really distracting. Cropping them out would help your cause in the future.
I hope that helped!

My reason for making Kuabara the little boy was because in the show he was just a normal human that had a strong "Spirit Awareness", I was hoping that it would just be an added joke for the people in the audience that got it. For future videos, i'll keep "if you saw the show, you would get it" to a minimum from now on. Would it have been better visually to have switched the two characters?CodeZTM wrote:However, I felt like the scenery didn't match the feeling of the video at all of the times. Noted, will be removed on future videos.CodeZTM wrote:I was a tad disappointed at the lack of text/trailer items. No opening green screen with a promotion for the MPAA?
