Song: XOTIC - Zodiac
Anime: Touhou Gensou Mangekyou ~The Memories of Phantasm~ Vol 1 & 2
Creator: Frostreturns
Category: Action
Storyline: This is an alternative story-based AMV. There is an incident in which Remilia releases a strong surge of energy throughout Gensokyo and produces a maddening effect on some residents. While Reimu and Marisa are distracted by some of the Underworld’s citizens becoming enraged and ready to fight, Remilia is able to spread this throughout a larger proportion of Gensokyo and thus attract Marisa/Reimu’s attention after beating their combatants in Hell. During this pursuit, though, appears Patchouli and seals Flandre from harming Marsia,
She then informs her that she is not under it’s effect and hints that there was something else occurring further along the line. For when they were able to reach Yuyuko, they found out she had given Remilia the power needed to unleash such a spell across the inhabitants of Gensokyo. In which Marsia goes to go combat Youmu first, defeats her and then falls prey to Yuyuko before Reimu assisted her and they both defeat Yuyuko. In which, in that last explosion, releases the spell across the effected citizens in Gensokyo and thus solves the incident.

wtf kind of ending was that?? xD
ah, that was pretty cool. I really like the red see-through smokey background you did from 0:48 to 1:13. Really good mood... also, did you mask all the girls at that time?! O:

Lmao, the ending may have been a tad bit rough in another's prospective. Yet, in my mind, Touhou is generally a light-hearted series. So when the incident was resolved with the storyline, the regular flow of the universe had been restored and it was back to good times.
I'm really glad you were able to enjoy it, however. I'll keep the ending part in mind for my next project; as I've been taking in alot of criticism of my work and working to improve myself lately with my editing if you've seen alot of my newer AMV's over the past week or so. Paying close attention to effects, transitions, flow and so forth.
And as for the smokey background? Yea, that was utterly awesome to make; as that's when I had the most fun with this video during the Scarlet-Phase.
also, did you mask all the girls at that time?! O:
YES....DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE MASKING! OHOOOOOOOO BOOOYYYY WAS THAT FUCKING REPETITIVE!
Those were a trip to make, but I'm glad I did it because it ended up making the whole thing flow better in my mind.

Well done! I absolutely love Touhou ;w;
I wish I had your patience at least, I think that's where my biggest downfall with editing is. >w<

'Danke! Glad you were able to enjoy the video.
On the note of that patience with editing, though, I feel that time management is a pretty goods key in doing this kind of stuff. I just set out what part of the song I wanted to get to, set a timer and just started editing in blocks in order for it to eventually build and build until a full AMV was made. I suggest you do the same. Just find a portion of the song you wanna edit, grab a timer, edit it and when the timer rings you stop, take a break and repeat.

A challenger appears D:
Unfortunately I can't bring myself to like your video :/
It's very well made considering the technical aspect, but I'm not a friend of those overlays. The end is also a bit abrupt aaand I don't really like the song ^^'.
Anyway, it's good to see a Touhou AMV that's well made. If you want to, you can bash mine aswell :3

Hahaha, it's fine m8. I probably went a bit too hard with those overlays anyway and in the future I'm gonna try to balance that out better. In my progression of getting back into the swing of editing, I've been trying to get into the flow of things. The Female Titan Video got me amp'd, Alterverse was just testing out timing/story related things, Maiden Dash was a throwback to my old action/effect-based videos and Shingeki No Squarepants (when I upload it) is more comedy.
So in the future, I'm gonna watch the ending parts of my AMV's better. I'll probably watch yours a bit later tonight and thanks for the constructive feedback. It's all going to make me a better editor.

I agree with Lapskaus but I also think you shouldn't be too hard on yourself nwnFrostreturns wrote:Quoted Image converted to link:Lapskaus wrote:A challenger appears D:

I've just gotten back into the wing of editing too and I'm really enjoying it but my first few videos, made with sony vegas, just looked pretty bad. I'm sure you'll make some amazing stuff if you put the time into it. :p
