Help our Souls -first ever AMV - need feedback

Post by MrMarans » Thu Apr 23, 2015 2:04 pm

Hey guys,

I made an AMV - for about 1.5 weeks - and at the end its pretty ok (at least i think it is). I would love to get some feedback for maybe coming AMV's.

Btw, i really had no concept. I just wanted to do an AMV. Like "I got too much free time, need to do somehting" and then I started.

Got it on Vimeo (but dont know why it looks so bad there. Its like 24 FPS, but the Source was 60 FPS. Looks horrible.) https://vimeo.com/125726035
and on Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/6zr2dlvk4dkor ... s.mp4?dl=0

I don't understand the concept, if there was one, but good editing though.

Thanks "chataolauj" and "Replay Studios" for those comments. Im really looking forward to do another one!

I really got to concept for this AMV, just cause i was like: "Hey, I have free time now, better do seomthing like an AMV"... well and then i did this. Had to work myself in again cause it was like 3 years ago when last opened After Effects (I did Bf3 Montages when i was 14-15). Now with this new expirience i got so many ideas for coming AMV's, but they will sure not be able to make cause of my lack of After Effects skills. I got not really feedback, but somehting like "good work" is feedback enough for me now. Now i know it isnt at least too bad, cause i had a minimal level of goodnes i wanted to achieve.

I only playned to write someling like "Thanks guys", now it a bit longer.

Well... thanks ^^

A text someone isn't able to read becomes obsolete.
Meaning the information at the beginning is completely unnecessary because nobody will be able to read it anyway.
And do you really want people to stop at the beginning of your AMV to read about your choices in anime and music?
Add it at the end and use the beginning for well-syncd clips.

As chataolauj had already mentioned, no obvious, consistent concept.
If you don't have a concept you need to rely on heavy editing to make up for it, in my opinion.

Not too bad, Adobe Editing can be a little frustrating at first,
don't worry -- Sony's is about as useless in the beginning to.

Speed Issues just Take a little time and 5 second Videos will
help you see "what it looks-like" Should you care to
experiment.
