Show Your Name
This is my first time posting an AMV in the catalog, so I wasn't sure how to add music or an artist (I searched but they didn't come up) The song is "Show Yourself" from Frozen 2 originally by Idina Menzel, and this is a cover by Gabi and Collin.
I never thought I'd make an AMV with this movie OR song since I despise Frozen, but once I got the idea to use the scene when Taki and Mitsuha call each other for the "voice," it wouldn't leave me alone and I had to do it! But then it didn't feel right using the original, which would have forced me to use mostly Mitsuha for this when I wanted to do both her and Taki. Surprisingly, I actually found a duet and basically just winged it from there.

Re: Show Your Name
Overall: I liked the atmosphere, the parallelism in the video, and the sentimental aspects.
However, I will say: I wasn't completely sold at the beginning half of the video. But, when the second half kicked in, it became a lot more enjoyable to watch.
Some parts were a little jarring, some degree of transitions would've helped, or allowing the clip to stay a little longer before moving onto the next one. Personally, I found the move from 2:25 to 2:26 a little jarring just because of the colour schemes (one being bright and saturated, the other darker and slightly more monotonous) - I think some transition would've benefitted that, definitely.
Overall, it was a very nice watch and it greatly highlighted a lot of the parallelism that goes on in the movie as they converge. Really good song for a really good movie!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I see what you mean with 2:25 being a little jarring because of the color differences. I've been trying to steer clear of transitions lately because it's hard to find a good balance of too many or not enough (or not the right ones) and I guess in this one there weren't enough. I'll be sure to experiment some more next time. Thanks again

Re: Show Your Name
This is very thoughtful, very good lyric sync, the gentle pace of the editing fits the pace and weight of the song very fittingly.
I can't say I ever would have thought to use this song with this anime (never mind never having heard this cover version), it's pretty impressive how you recontextualized these scenes to make it work.

Thank you for watching and for the great feedback, I'm really glad you enjoyed it I wish I could invest in a future like that, but because of so many bad experiences with my videos being stolen, I'm extremely reluctant to upload anything without a watermark. It hasn't happened as much with a big one. I know they're ugly and distracting, but I just feel very strongly it's the only way to keep my videos safe. I always make sure to enter watermark-free vids in contests, though!
