overlooking that amv faux pas (watermark), I'm impressed with this edit! Your scene selection seems very well thought out, which made it really flow with the narrative of the song (great song choice too!)

thank you for the comment, this is a older amv of mine hence then name remake using the same song as before but edited slightlySynaesthesiaVideos wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 7:01 amoverlooking that amv faux pas (watermark), I'm impressed with this edit! it was the perfect song choice last time so i figured why not use it again, as for the watermark there is none i download entire series
for each amv, you can see what site in the corner of video. as im not allowed to say sites name, rules on this site are old and they suck,
i edit each amv myself, i use to grab shit from youtube like everyone else has done but when i did that i never used someone elses stuff
that had their name or shit in it, i see it as if there is a channel name dont touch it/ unless its a anime site

I think you had an idea but, personally, I think the execution could have been much better.
I think if you condensed the song too, say, 1 - 2 minutes of editing, then you may have more focus on what scenes should go where to help convey the story because you'll have more scenes to work with. But, since you had 5 minutes to edit, you limited the amount of scenes you could use.
Personal opinion, but just personal thoughts.

Re: watamote - whore (remake)
I wasn't really feeling this... and yet, I think you really hit your stride about halfway through.
The song definitely fits both Tomoko's general sense of angst and her delusions of what she thinks it means to be a Bad Girl or whatever misguided personas she's thinking of trying on throughout these scenes. In terms of specific lyric sync, I never quite felt that the song really connected to these scenes or her as a character, but whatever. (I don't think she wants to be anyone's whore... but maybe some lyrics are meant to be taken figuratively and the singer doesn't actually mean what she's saying, either. Who knows!)
The opening credit sequence really dominates the beginning of this video. It's not out of place or anything but it's very much all there until it has no more footage to give... seems like these scenes could have provided much needed visual punctuation throughout the video rather than being all together in one block right at the beginning? Just my thoughts, I'm actually a terrible editor so you can disregard this and everything I'm saying as you see fit.
At about 3:17 until the end, I feel like you really tapped into a better sense of flow that was kind of missing from the beginning. Everything just felt more natural and free-flowing, just a solid sense of sync that lands far more than it doesn't. Everything before that left me with the impression that I was watching individual scenes that are loosely edited to fit the mood. But after this, things got much less predictable and the video succeeded on a fun and upbeat level that really felt refreshing.
I don't want to criticize the beginning of this AMV too hard, but sequences like the part from 3:25-3:40 were so good and I just wish more of the early part of the video felt like this.
Very hard to compare this to the original AMV you made in 2014, which seems to be a totally different version of the song! I'm weirdly charmed by how the old version begins and how you go bonkers with the OP scenes when the chorus kicks in. But yeah, it's a totally different song that's structured differently so I'd almost consider this remake a completely different video by comparison.
