And another first AMV from a new member ^^
We showed our first AMV at Minamicon 10 (12-14 March) - 'It's Raining Bishounen', clips from 23 anime set to 'It's Raining Men' by the Weather Girls. Details are on the website, from which it can also be downloaded by BitTorrent - http://www.toothycat.net/amv.html

I'll keep an eye out for it :)Sun Kitten wrote:Thanks ^^ and no, sorry >.< We have the space but not the bandwidth. But please feel free to redistribute it.
Don't worry, you didn't miss anything worthwhile ;)The Millennium Actress AMV was shown but something weird happened about 30 seconds in and it cut to the next AMV. It was looking good, too :/
Thanks!

Somehow I doubt that - the bit we saw was looking very promising. Do you know of anywhere we can grab it?shumira_chan wrote:Sun Kitten wrote:Don't worry, you didn't miss anything worthwhileThe Millennium Actress AMV was shown but something weird happened about 30 seconds in and it cut to the next AMV. That was really nice (finally managed to download and unzip it) - it's good to know there's another person out there using something other than Premier
The beginning was especially nice - everything fitted perfectly and the ending was good with the flashes of her face (good thing I've actually seen 'Millennium Actress'). In the middle I think it was still good but not as perfect as the beginning and end. The music was good too - it always helps when the song is a good one (and that is entirely subjective, but whatever).
It's a pity it didn't play at the con :/ I'm quite surprised that people from overseas send their AMVs to a little con in Britain (judging by your website, anyway, which might be completely misleading). There were a couple of Aussie AMVs too.
Thanks

Yes, you're using Cinelerra, right? I've noticed that LinuxSun Kitten wrote:That was really nice (finally managed to download and unzip it) - it's good to know there's another person out there using something other than Premier
and *BSD AMVs are starting to show up more and more.
The software I'm using is in a very early development
phase, as you noticed there are no fancy effects. However,
it is very stable. My biggest problem with it is the lack
of image quality it can handle (it uses JPEG as the
editing format). I've hacked it to use PNG and have been
able to do some neat things with it. I hope the changes will
be incorporated into the main branch after I've done some
more testing.
I'm happy to hear that you did not dislike it, thank you!The beginning was especially nice - everything fitted perfectly and the ending was good with the flashes of her face (good thing I've actually seen 'Millennium Actress'). That's OK, it's not a contest video. I'm sending my AMVs,It's a pity it didn't play at the con :/ I'm quite surprised that people from overseas send their AMVs to a little con in Britain (judging by your website, anyway, which might be completely misleading). There were a couple of Aussie AMVs too.
exhibition-only, to the smallest cons I can find (I'm
hoping they'll be able to show it at Animaritime). I
doubt I'll ever compete, but I'll try to focus on more
introspective stuff, which is what I really like. No
misleading, the AMV came all the way from Canada
Well, thanks again for watching! Cheers!

Seriously though, a well earned victory.. Also glad the winning video wasn't even born from the bowels of premiere either ;)
I'll just have to try harder next year..
