Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Doing It (For You)

Post by dwchang » Sat Apr 30, 2005 3:16 pm

So as many of you heard during the RDS Radio session last night, I have a new video that I've been working on for the last 5 months (that's why I've been so quiet) and I released it at the end of the broadcast.

Perhaps it's a bit pretentious of me to say this, but I think it's my best work yet. I put my heart and soul into this video for the last 5 months and hopefully it shows. I don't like using this word since it's kinda pretentious and arrogant, but I'd go so far as to say it may be my "opus." I hate to say this Jay, but maybe even more than my Project Genius track

Anyway it wouldn't be right of me to keep it among only the IRC folks and RDS Radio listeners so here ya go:

Song: Everything I Do (I do it for you)
Artist: Bryan Adams (Go Canada?)
Anime: Vision of Escaflowne"

Direct video link, please no streaming
Doing It (For You) - currently just a direct link to the video since I haven't had time to write a video profile.

Much thanks to AtomX for hosting it (my server space is full >_<).
Also thanks to AbsoluteDestiny and Kusoyaro for the idea.

Enjoy?

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

WHoA! *wipes tears* No, I'm not crying. I've just got some dust in my eyes, really!

That was...really touching. When you said it took you 5 months, I was kind of expecting something a little more complex, but I understand perfectly that even the simple stuff like this can be tedious (what with the amount of source material and just getting the motivation to sit down and work with it, not to mention finding the time).

I like simple videos like this. It's really good. Is it your best? Eh, I think I'll sit on the fence on that verdict for a while longer.
