Ok here's my new video I hope you enjoy it.

Anime: Soultaker
Band: Dark Traquillity
Song: No One

Link: Ashes of the Coming Dawn

It's a nice mix of action and sentimental elements. So it's kind of a hybrid action/drama amv. Well just read the comments for more infos.

Hrm, 81 mbs for a 4:20 video? :? I'm still getting it, but I'll have you know I'm not happy about it.

Good stuff, but the music really bugged me. Though, that's mainly because I'm a power metal person. Not too big on the death metal. Can't please everyone, I guess. I like the video itself, editing is top notch, but I'm unsure as to whether or not I'll keep it.

Yeah I know but there were some effects that got alot of artifacts at lower bitrates and you know I'm not such a genious when it comes to compressing and stuff. But with it's 81mb it looks very good I think. Thanks for getting it anyway since I know it'll surely take sometime if you're on 56k. I'll be awaiting your comments. :D

Well. I'd be glad if you kept it, but I was aware of the fact not everyone will like it evertime I started something deathmetalish. But you said the editing is top notch and I' already satisfied with that statement. If you like Power Metal you can look forward to my next AMV I'll do (not my next release though).

Sweet video; the visual design in places reminded me of some other DT videos I've seen around here (though executed more competently) as well as Niklas Sundin's graphic style. Real sharp, definitely keeping this one.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.
CHOPWORK - abominations of maceration
skywide, armspread : forward, upward
Coelem - Tenebral Presence single now freely available

Thanks alot for the motivating comments. If you are comparing my videos with DT's or the graphic style of Sundin it's a real honor. :D

For the first part, I was thinking more of this one (hence the "executed better" part), but it's probably more due to a commonality of influences than anything else. Thinking visually about DT almost always leads straight back to Sundin, but you've gotten a lot closer to his album design style here than I've ever been able to. The way you use blurs on the beats and play around with the available viewing area did remind me strongly of "Lost to Apathy", though; I just didn't articulate that clearly enough the first time.

Oh ... seems like I just was to stupid to read your comments correctly. Well your video looked like the "Damage Done" design more than my video looks like "Lost to Apathy" but I know how to copy that diplaced bar effect the video uses but somehow I left that for the pianosync of my left video. The use of the middle bar and the backgound seperatly was a idea I got while watching the video though, you really got a good eye for things like this I must say. Btw. the Bluring Glow I used in some parts is to be found in In Flames "Trigger" and "The Quite Place" so I guess I can say I'm inspired by metalvideos alot . I hope I understood your comments right this time.

what can I say? exellent one! My favorite parts are all the vocal or better to say the colourful scenes especially the "eye"-scene
great timing, nice work!
