Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

What he means is that bumping your thread is looked down upon in these forums. Please refrain from doing it. Instead, if you're looking for comments and feedback, you might want to look into the Opinion Exchange forum and start a thread there. There are lots of nice people there who are willing to check out your video.

Don't be surprised if you don't get a lot of comments on the Announcements forum. Most people don't. But please don't bump your threads from now on.

Hope that helps.

Yeah well its been a whole day now and nobody has seen this thread yet. I knew it would be a bad idea to post the video here after working so hard on it. It took me 8 hrs to get the encode right, and nobody here has time to look at it. Obviously the site is a bit slow. Thanks anyway for your warning of trying to get attention towards me. I dont need yours anyway. See ya

Okay, listen. You need to get your head out of your ass. Nobody, and I mean nobody, likes it when people bump their threads. Do you realize what this does? All you're doing is pushing other people's threads farther down the page and eventually off of it. How is this fair to everyone else? Then their threads get ignored.

Also, you made a Kingdom Hearts video. Let's face it. It's extremely overdone on this site. The sad truth is that if you're not a "big name" on the site, videos using overused sources generally get ignored. It's annoying, I know. Even though I've had some videos uploaded for over two years now, those ones have no opinions and less than 200 downloads because they use Final Fantasy. If I wanted opinions, though, I could have posted them in the Opinion Exchange forum - exactly what I suggested you do. It really is a great place for feedback.

Furthermore, have you noticed how many threads in this forum fell off of the first page without any replies at all? Honestly, to complain about not getting any views in a day is just childish. It's unrealistic to expect people to flock to your thread in that short amount of time. Also, did you even see the fact that you had 90 views on your thread anyway? People have looked at it. For some reason or another, maybe they just didn't want to download the video. Or maybe they did and didn't leave any comments. That's another annoying - yet ultimately constant - trait of the site members here.

Even moreso, do you think you're the only person to spend a lot of time on a video and get ignored anyway? Certainly not. The amount of time spent only partially affects how good a video is. It's just as likely that you'll spend fifty hours on a video and have it be crap as it is to spend ten hours with a spark of brilliance on a video and have it turn out amazing.

Lastly, not everyone is able to download a video right when it is released. I love Kingdom Hearts, and despite being overdone, I still download every KH video I see on the Announcements forum. I was planning on downloading this one, too. I still am planning on it, even though you're acting like a damned two-year-old. The problem is that I can't download anything on this computer. However, once I get the internet routed to my own computer, I fully intend on catching up on the announcements I've missed. So don't go around assuming that the "site is slow" just because not everyone showers your video with instant praise. You may have to wait some time for comments - and whether or not you want them, I still planned on leaving my thoughts on your video. If it just so happens that I can't get around to it before it falls off of the first page, oh well. Rather than bumping it from page two, I'll just leave you long quick comments instead. I'm accomodating like that.

Honestly, chill out. No, not everything on this site is fair, and the members can be fickle when it comes to watching videos. A lot of people have frustration with that. I do my best to leave some sort of constructive comment on everything I watch, but the fact is that this is just a hobby. Most people don't take it so seriously and many just don't have the time to leave in-depth reviews of everything they download. It's just the way the system works. Be glad there's a place to upload your videos at all.

PS: when you link to your video, it's better to link to the information page rather than the download page itself. You didn't say what the music was in this thread, and that is a deciding factor for many people when it comes to downloading a video. So it's inconvenient to link to the download page where they can't see the music and other info.
