  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Sailing Out Of My Head (original creation)

Post by Mad Arab » Thu Jun 22, 2006 12:41 pm

hey there !!!1 I'd like to present you with my latest (first ^_^) amv. The amv's story is original, complete with original animation done by me (naturally -_-;). Although I've done all the drawing and editing, I did recieve a little help (regarding the transitions) from my sis. Everyone who watched this amv told me it was unique and beautifuly made. So be sure to take a little time to download and watch it. Here is the link :

Wow. That was abstract and weird, and kinda scary. I really don't think it counts as 'anime' here, though. Aside from what looked like one of the 'menos grande' from Bleach, there's no real anime references in the video.

The style doesn't strike me as anime-like. But that doesn't mean the style isn't cool. It's really really abstract and neat. All the 'eyes' blinking makes me think of some strange horror movie, an old fashioned one. I think this video would do better on a real artistic website, rather than here. Some site featuring amature filmmakers, perhaps. It has that feel to it.

The story you wrote up in the description sounded a lot like a doujinshi I've read. I didn't really see that in the video itself. I think you could do well if you didn't explain what the video is all about. Leaving it in the open, up to interpretation, would fit the style of the drawings better - it's abstract. In a good way.

Really talented work here, screwed up and cool. Not an amv, though.

i thought it kinda fits here cause the "original animation" option was listed in the animes , i tried my best to make it look anime-style too . so i figured it might be alright :?

This isn't an AMV... However, I really enjoyed it... and as Arigatomina said, you should just leave it like that with no description. Seriously, I really liked it.. Good stuff

This amv amazed me! It's so intense and dark that I watched it maybe four times in a row! The music gave a good twist to the atmosphere. You did a really good job there. :D

Also,I think that it had enough anime in it to be called an anime music video. And in the end,it's just so interesting that one must see it regardless of classifications.^-^
