Hey,
First things first, I'm sorry for the large file size, but I chose video quality over filesize. I know I should probably re-read the guides regarding this as it's been a while.
Anyway on to the good stuff.
Name: Inseperable Souls
Anime: Rurouni Kenshin (Trust and Betrayal)
Artist: Di-rect
Song: Inside my head

The band in question is a popular (with young teenage girls) band in Holland and this is their only good song. But, it fits perfectly with the anime and it was easy to edit to. So good material for a beginner.
I worked really hard on this video, at least a few months and although it is my first, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Inseparable souls
In an era where most videos are deluged with a dozen or more effects in an instant, and where most viewers have a time span of concentration that doens't exceed three seconds. (Unless ofcourse there is a flash or fade in it.) This video is actually quite original. The video takes its time to make its point, and the introduction may seem like a no brainer to some, but overall I think it tells the story nicely.(even for those who don't know the story). Patience is rewarded, the action scene at the end is quite effective, in part due to the videos slower beginning. In my opinion the song isn't the perfect shoe for the videos subtle imagery, but it gets the point across.
It's definitely a first-timer, but a style that hasn't been completely defined yet can be a good example for people who search for some different angles at music videos. (or people who have lost track of classic approaches)
Cheers mate, keep it up!

That was excellent. I haven't been so impressed by a first AMV in a long, long time. You most certainly take focus away from the technical and place it directly on the relationship between the footage and the song. My only complaints would be some small pacing/flow issues involving use of long scenes among shorter ones (1:28-1:31 is a good example of this) and the white flash at 1:14 (which needs to either be removed or softened to match the cymbal).
This is how you treat AMVs as art, please keep me posted on your future works.

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

A really strong video, especially for a first time. I like the lack of effects. The only weak point (at least in my opinion) was a white strobe early in the video, the same one SSJ mentioned. it seemed almost offbeat or maybe it just lasted a frame too long.
Keep up the good work.

A classic approach to an AMV. I liked the flow of this video, but like SSJVegita0609 pointed out, there are some areas that could use improvement.
I'd also like to mention that you could have probably gone a resolution down in size to make the file smaller. 720 x 540 is an unusual choice, most 4:3 AR videos get sized to 640 x 480 or less.
Keep it up!
