Beyond the Silence - FFVII video (C&A)

Post by Schattenlied » Sat Dec 23, 2006 11:14 am

Sorry for opening the topic twice. My PC screwed me...
Size: 84 MB (720/576)

'Beyond the Silence' is my fourth (Cloud & Aeris) video. It is the first done with Adobe Premiere 6.0 however and the jump from WMM to Premiere was quite a hard one. Because of this 'Beyond the Silence' took months longer to make than I expected. However, please do not expect that I have a full grip on Premiere by now.
I played around a lot but stayed away from the more fancy effects, favouring zooming, slowing down and - finally - the option to do true overlays.
Doing a 5-minute-song with FFVII alone means you will have a lack of footage when you are halfway trough resulting in the repetition of some scenes. I think I did quite well, however trying to use the scenes in a different way and changing them somewhat, so that it doesn't feel like you have seen exact the same just a minute before. Whoever was annoyed by Aeris face popping up again and again in 'Whispers through Memory' should feel warned, though.

I portrayed the games ending as Clouds and Aeris fight for the future of the planet and for each other: Cloud fighting on earth with Aeris providing help from the afterlife through Holy and the Lifestream - this way I could include all the pretty ending scenes...
Cloud reaching out for Lifestream, being 'embraced' by Lifestream, etc.
Overall it is to show that Aeris death is not 'our farewell'.

Thanks for reading/watching
