Obviously I'm not expecting very high praises given the number of Hatter Haters around here, but it should be interesting.
As far as I know I'm the only one who ever makes vids like this (with such a high degree of animation to beat synch), normally people either use chop shots and flash bang style effects at the beats or they just don't really use any. So in that respect it should at least be a fresh cup of tea for most.
So far the only real gripe about it has been the silence at the beginning, but I like it and it's an artistic form...if anything I regret not doing the same thing at the end (continuing the animation after the song is finished and then fading out.
This is just a basic action video so it's not meant to be anything really awe inspiring, ground breaking or incredible. I didn't use anything like frame level reconstruction techniques like I've been working on for some of my other upcoming vids. Here's a sample clip if you want to know what I'm talking about:

So for those that like it, enjoy, for those that don't...*shrugs*...bitch about it I guess.

I'm a sucker for action.
not bad, though the silence at the beginning did seem a bit akward.
After you said that there was a crazy ammount of sync I was curious...but I know a few editors who do even more sync.
true that it's primarily made with cuts between clips...but I digress
I just feel like i've seen something with more action sync...but can't put my finger on it.
it might just be me, but it seemed like this was made out of one episode, which probably took a bit of work to get all synced...but it's a little different when you use clips spread across an entire series, so I don't think your "style" versus others' "styles" wasn't quite a valid analysis.
(as a side note I think my third amv is an example of, if nothing else, a medium between the two sets of styles I mentioned. [/shameless plug])
video could've been better, but it was fairly entertaining

Not really. It actually looked not-synced-enough for me, especially taking into account the expectations i got from the quote above.Wheee_It's_Me! wrote: As far as I know I'm the only one who ever makes vids like this (with such a high degree of animation to beat synch),
Pretty average.

Re: Linky Blinky On Teh Org
Well there are different kinds of synch, some are more obvious/intrusive than others, like flashing/pulsing the screen at the beats, frame jumping at the beats, scene jumping at the beats, frame movement at the beats, matching the animation action itself to the beats, etc. In my video I used primarily matching the animation action to the beats with some frame jumping and scene jumping and in a couple places I used screen flashing, so probably I would assume that you like more "in your face" kind of synch, the kind you get by flashing the screen. Personally I don't much like that style, I think it's over used, intrusive, obstructs the footage and generally winds up giving me a headache...it generally has more appeal though to a younger crowd (high school age).chosef wrote:Not really. Another one of mine maybe? *shrugs*Kariudo wrote:I'm a sucker for action.

It'd be nice if someone could actually provide some proof that I'm not the only one. I know a lot of other people have claimed they've seen vids like mine but then when I ask for examples they never have any. I can think of a lot of examples where they use flash frames and scene cuts, but hardly any where there's an excessive level of animation action synch.
Three episodes total, two were a two part episode and the other was the first episode (that part at the very beginning on the plane). At first I was thinking about making it a completely mindless action video with no real plot at all, just cool scenes, but as I started making it I decided to try and stick with a theme (rescuing/saving Nenene Sumiregawa)it might just be me, but it seemed like this was made out of one episode, which probably took a bit of work to get all synced...but it's a little different when you use clips spread across an entire series, so I don't think your "style" versus others' "styles" wasn't quite a valid analysis.

Yeah if I had, had more time I could have done a lot more with it and at some point I might, but for now it's good. I only had one day for clip harvesting and then two days for editing to meet the deadline. Next time I'll try not to procrastinate so long. ^_^video could've been better, but it was fairly entertaining

Video and Audio source looks good. Song is decent and I liked the series when it was on TTV.
I saw some obvious sync in there, but I also saw some un-obvious sync. The problem with some of the more unorthodox syncing methods is that sometimes it's so un-obvious, it loses all effect.
Looks like Music+Anime=AMV formula with some sync effects that, while possibly unique, are visually not there or standard.
PS: You are awesome and have no equal! All praise Hatter!

fffttt you know I thought this would be better considering the amount of horn blowing you do.
It's not really anything fantastic.
I've seen better sync too.
Let me correct that and say that I've seen much better sync and you missed some scene changes.
why don't you have a look at alkampher81(I think that's the right person) amvs that's the same kind of sync you are using.

"We're sorry, but there were no results for your query."
Boy, there's a surprise...not.
BTW, what's all this "horn blowing" you're talking about? I mean I don't know what imaginary threads you've been reading but as I plainly stated, this vid is just a basic action AMV, it's NOT meant to be anything incredible or ground breaking. Yeesh, I think maybe some peeps need their Ritalin dose uped.

Christ, who the hell are you? Do you enjoy acting like an ass to people who are trying to overcome your nausea-inducing ego to help you out?Wheee_It's_Me! wrote:*runs a search*truck wrote:fffttt you know I thought this would be better considering the amount of horn blowing you do.

Anyway, check the top 10 percent, smart-ass. There's a vid by alkampfer in the top 10, called "Hold Me Now"
EDIT : Checked out the vid. It's alright, but really, quite a few editors sync more than you do, and thus the vid has no real defining characteristic.
