Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Kastles of Sand
Finally able to post this! It's been done since the start of the month.
I made this for a friend's birthday, and my first video with my "studio".. my friend absolutely loved it.. I hope you like it too. It's definately my best (and most experimental) video so far.
---
Programs used:
Adobe Premiere 6.5
Adobe After Effects 5.0 (very briefly)
Adobe Photoshop 7.0
VirtualDub
Enjoy!!

Thanks for your feedback!angelx03 wrote:Few technical nitpicks.

The quality's definately an issue, I know.. the actual video is over 170mb when compressed at 848x480, and I know I don't want to waste so much space downloading a video that big for 4 minutes.
To compress it to how it is now I had to convert it to MPEG and then into 3viX (don't ask, seriously, it died any other way), and compressing it into XviD pushed it over the 100mb with.. pretty much the same quality. It's a shame though, because the original quality was great, nice and clean..
>Subs
I wasn't too sure on the subs myself, sorry they annoyed you!
And I did consider softsubs, but I wouldn't have known where to start and I had a deadline to work to, so time wasn't really on my side. Plus with constant work deadlines I hardly had the time to edit, nevermind learn about softsubs.
But if I recieve enough comments on the subs I might release a subless version to save hassle, and probably some better quality versions if I can get the size down and quality up :/
Thank you!angelx03 wrote:Overall, it's a pretty cool video.

Compressing the audio to something like MP3 would help with the filesize. It provides far superior compressibility to MS ADPCM.Taruto Chan wrote:Thanks for your feedback!angelx03 wrote:Few technical nitpicks.

Mindless pap squeezed from the open wounds of a near dead beast by rotoscoped hands. Keenly lit, yet dark enough to not show obvious imperfection. Entered expecting slow motion scenes of doe-eyed lovers embracing each other, not pleased with results. German is not a pretty language. Rudimentary knowledge of pacing. Last minute falls apart in both concept and execution. Passable, for a fan creation.
