Experiments with Lain

Post by CoreSinns » Tue Apr 24, 2007 4:10 pm

Well, after a five year hiatus I have finally started putting together my AMVs for upload. Other than this vid, I re-uploaded my Xenogears video 'Fall.' I always liked that one, though it is quite rough. It was only my second attempt at this whole AMV thing.

This is my most recent project. It's a dramatic video, fairly slow paced and uses one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. One of the few good things to come out of that whole grunge thing...Anyways, I am quite happy with this video as it's my most technical to date.

Video: Experiments with Lain.
Editor: Adrian Hartery (Coresinns)
Anime: Serial Experiments Lain
Music: Letting the Cables Sleep, by Bush.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Didn't like it. The main problem was lack of beat sync, and no discernable concept - it looked like you just took all the scenes of Lain looking depressed and put them to a video. Didn't seem to even follow the series itself.

Also, there are serious quality problems here. Lots of the parts have interlacing issues, it doesn't seem like this video went through any AviSynth filtering at all.

Boring is the best word to describe this one. On the upside, it made me want to finish my Lain video that I stopped working on a couple months ago.
