Dante's Crusade

Post by Red Drake Kai » Tue Aug 14, 2007 5:03 pm

Well lets see, it took awhile to sync it up. I've have a few people look at it so I do know about certain things going on with it. However, I just really want people to enjoy it. I was sitting there listening to Beethoven's Piano Sonata, and Devil May Cry had just been released so I decided to see how it looked.

I wasn't really expecting to finish it, but it was interestingly fun to watch how this AMV turned out.

Well Enjoy.

I'm a huge fan of the games, and although the anime has been WAY below their level, I'm always up for an AMV.

I gotta give you props for beat sync. You hit just about every piano keystroke in the song with a scene change. It's a bit overpowering sometimes, but that seems to be the way most piano instrumental videos are edited. What bothered me was that it felt like a general lack of a concept. There wasn't any story - just what looked like random scenes from a few episodes of the anime. Work on the video quality, too. I'll cut you some slack since it's not on DVD yet, but there are some crazy high quality raws out there (1920x1080 and *beautiful*), so you could have done better.

That's not to say I disliked it. I did like your editing. I guess I just don't "get it," y'know? Anywho, good job. I'd give this an average 3/5.

Thanks you for the critique.

I really know what you mean for the lack of concept, but I've always felt that instrumentals songs are a little harder to find a theme of course. In a normal song there is a story, or there would be no point to the song, but there is a story that does help you out with the theme of your amv. For instrumentals, it's really free, you do get to create the theme, but the problem is keeping to that concept, which is hard for me, and probably a few others. But I'll keep it in mind. Always learn from your mistakes.
