Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Hm, not a bad debut. I assume you have edited something before this ? I was suprised that I actually had a good feeling affirmed while watching. I didn't see much sense in the effects, which were pretty random and from my point of view unnecessary but therefore you have a very very good sense for sceneselection I must admit. The timing was often fitting even though it could've been a bite more here and there, and you need some more training with those basics but already not bad. I enjoyed the video and would advice you to leave the effects aside and maybe deepen your basic editing skills in the next video and after that look what AE is acutally good for. Keep up the good work.

A Perfect Circle!
Me downloads.
EDIT: Not really what I was hoping for, but it had a focused feel to it. The song was screaming for hell of a lot more beat sync than that, but the footage still managed to keep it up and going. That's not something easily done, imo. The video had its clear focus points as it broke loose occasionally, internal sync wise, but the overall feel was rather dull than exciting.. If you're using slow-paced beat sync as your style, you'd better make the high-lights of it really good if you want it to work properly as a whole.
The combo was superb. I really like this song (although it's nothing compared to the original version =P) and it propably helped this video a lot. I just the wish the beat sync would have been lots better than that. I really would have liked the video then, even if the lip sync seemed a little out of place.. Also, why did you cut the song like this? O.o You cut out the whole climax of it, which worked kinda poorly for this video. Now it was more or less the exact same throughout..
Points for the internal sync though. The shooting part blew me away, especially when in contrast with what the video was like before it~ Overall, this AMV had loads of potential. It's really a shame it wasn't on its maximum.

First of all: thanks for your thoughts on the video, everyone. More or less everything you criticised is perfectly true and I basically share your opinions about the major flaws of the AMV.
I must admit that I got a little lazy about adding more highlights synched to the beat when I reached the end of the production process. I somehow wanted it to be done (probably because I finally wanted to finish an actual AMV). Next time, I'll try to resist this urge to "get it over with".
Speaking of the lipsynch part, I realized (a bit too late) that this passage of the song is actually somewhat monotous and couldn't figure out a more attractive way to vary the video (mainly because there is no real prominent beat or vocal highlights in this part). In my opinion this is mainly a problem of song selection. I will consider the song for my next video much more thoroughly, I think.
And when it comes to the shortening of the song, I did it because of another major problem (that I wasn't aware of before) that arises when doing an AMV from an OVA. I just didn't have enough interesting video material left, to fill the last part of the song (which is rather fast paced and repetitive -> need for many scenes to make it interesting). So this was more of a problem in terms of VIDEO selection. ;D
Whatsoever, I've learned a lot from this already. Thanks again.

Wow... There were parts in it were I really enjoyed the mood and the atmosphere of the video. This was great sometimes. Awesome.
Ok I agree with the other people. I think I´ll write you an op later. You´re from Germany. That makes things much more easier to write.

I hope you make a remake one day with more experience.
