Against the Grain (Best Action at AFO)

Best Action - Anime Festival Orlando 08

It all started when I was linked to a 10 second beta that Minion had done using this track along with Elfen Lied. I gave him a thumbs up, then a few days later when I ask how the progress was going on this video he tells me that that beta was just a test using cameras in AE. And thats when I facepalm'd and requested that he finish the video... After a few talks, I decided to finish the video due to the sheer nature of the song + I'm tired of watching sappy Elfen Lied videos.

After a few days with working on the camera effect I realized why he didn't want to finish it... It got old real quick, but with AFO around the corner and no other possible projects up my sleeves, I decided to hell with it and I manage to finish in a few hours before the deadline.. Course I did go 48 hours without sleep + work the next day, but that's it.

Although there was always time after AFO's AMV contest right? Course there was, although I thought of 10 good ways to spend the rest of my summer and polishing this video wasn't one of them. So this is pretty much my 'oh gawd I made the deadline' version with an added outro.

...well the banner hints me that this will be a effectsy vid but whatever you got me interested already when you said it all started so ima dl this one later when i have time and i bet you watched my elfen lied video when you named your video cause against the grain is a serious insult on my elfen lied video aka as full of grain and brainless sync video but then again my video sucked so whatever since niwa digged your vidi it may be not that bad anyhow but on the other hand he diggs like everything and everyone so well anyway i wanna see lucy now killing some ppl so ima get the video once i have time nyuuuuuuu~

I liked the video, but there were a few aspects that I didn't enjoy.

Some of the fx/riot gear stuff looked thrown on at times.

The blurs were not to my liking either.

I did like the 3D Camera.

The song is perfect for Elfen Lied.

eh.

4/5 or 7/10.

Hell ya. Checking out when I get home from school. Verses, The poster leads to a diff vid? Minion ditches some of the coolest video idea...I might even take one from him...he hasn't finished a certain vid yet

Yes and no. Yes, it's a fx whore'd video and I believe I got the name from Minion, who tells me he got it from a radio talk show.

Most definitely, I threw in a lot of pointless effects to try and cover up the rough editing. Again I want to stress the deadline was a few hours away.

Tell me about it, he had this other project he didn't bother continuing after the first 15 seconds. Gurren Lagann with Daft Punk, damn would have been awesome. I say, ask him if he's not going to finish it.. If not, ask to steal the idea.
