[Fire And Brimstone] The Last Great Tragedy

Post by TwilightChrono » Thu Jan 29, 2009 6:39 am

[Sorry guy's. No fancy banner this time. XD]

Well....what to say.

First off, there are 3 or 4 different stories in this AMV, each one at a different stage in the song. I won't go into lengthy detail, you'll just have to watch XD

I also shortened the song. The song got really repetitive towards the end. Don't worry, if you've never heard the song before, I don't think you will be able to tell it's been shortened. I'm pretty good with audio ya know XD

I also spent a lot of time on the digital effects, (Masking) so....when watching keep in mind that some of them are blatant and easily seen while others you will have to look for.

I decided to make another InuYasha video because my first one was a complete flop and was never finished. (I never uploaded that one to the org) This one however, I took great pride in making. I really do hope you enjoy it. I also used a different editing style than I am used to....although, you can still see some of my style in here if you are familiar with it.

I would like to say that the inspiration for making this video was inspired by an old friend of mine of whom I no longer have contact with. [Miss Ya Waruai Chibi]

I also apologize for my recent over-usage of Celldweller. I'm just trying to get it out of my system XD

Well, I hope you enjoy.

You sure make videos quick.
I love this song and I can't see it working with Inuyasha.
But I'll give it a chance.

Just like I thought, It didn't work out.
Song is far deeper than the video, emotionally that is. The editing it self was pretty decent, but the song and video source just didn't go together.
There was SO many parts that I frowned over due to how the animation and scenes selected felt so not-serious, so unfitting.(like 0:54 & 1:15~ for example)

As for 4 stories, I didn't feel em'. It felt more like 1 story. And even as I could mark out the spots where you changed the stories, I still didn't understand them clearly. There was some kid lost with some monsters attacking, and there was a pervert touching some girls ass. Then they went after yet another girl through a portal of some kind, then when they went through they wanted to go back again. Once they came back up it changed story. After that some other bad guys appear and the others try to open a box. Then they start fighting. Then it ends.

If that was your story... Then I wonder why you used this song as it's theme. Since when I listen to this song I get the feeling of, as the lyrics go "Tragedy". So I ask you, were was the tragedy in this video?

Editing-wise it was solid, but story-wise and lyrical-wise it was rather iffy.
Keep it up.

I didn't really like it.
I don't think the anime and song went well together. The scene selection felt really random to me. I also didn't get the story.
What I like about it is the consistency of the editing. It was cool. It's a nice video ,I definitely like some parts over some, but I was expecting a tad bit more.

Well, it's more about the girl at the beginning, as it starts with her and ends with her, and it's mainly a build up to the fight between them and the ending. So, if anything, yeah.....it's about the Inuyasha and the girls relationship. But it's several different stories leading up to it. there is 3 stories. It's about the girl and Inuyasha, then a short version of the movie in between the beginning of the end leading up to it.

So, it's got the lighthearted stuff in their too. The lyrics more refer to Inuyasha and the girls' relationship rather than the rest of the video, but there wasn't enough footage from the movie to just portray the girl and Inuyasha's relationship. So, I had to do some stuff in between.

I could see what you were trying to do with the story, but for some reason it just didn't click for me. Purely from a technical standpoint it's fine, although the audio sounded terrible due to the compression (High Efficiency AAC isn't High Quality - it's actually lower quality).

So like Zet said, the editing itself was pretty nice, a big improvement from your last video IMO, but the AMV lacked emotion and I would rather see emotion than a perfect edited AMV.
