Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

good to see bloc party.

don't abandon the techniques from the NHK vid. Once you get a good feel for that style it might serve you better, take you farther.

i really appreciate that feed back
im in an extremely experimental stage right now with amvs thats why i feel its so crucial to get feed back from more experienced and successful editors

in which way do you think the nhk one is better?

haha. I'm no experienced or successful editor. At all, actually. You've got seven vids on me, i'm clocking in at zero right now

ah, I guess the nhk one seems less familiar. so once you figure how to match up images and music well, which is probably a matter of feel and instinct more than anything, the less conventional style will capture attention and praise

besides that, don't strain yourself or try too hard, that will spoil the flow of it. It has to feel natural.

Don't be afraid to spend a lot of time on it? ten or so seconds a day is as fast as I like to go

and you'll be taken more seriously and generally receive more attention if you do something about spongebob, that's the best advice I can give you

I Have to get a BECK vid :/... let's see what we got here.

edit: didn't watch all the way through. Synch was very clunky and off, the text used didn't work. I know exactly which BECK footage you used to as that's how I watched it for the first time before I got teh DVDs. Quality was not to great but that's not important. It just seemed like random scenes with some random synch here and there you tried to throw in. Really no flow or coherence.

It wasn't terrible but Needed Tighter synch and whatnot.

noted.
im usually a stickler for sync as much as my noobish skills allow me to be anyway
after watching it a few times after my friend made a comment i did notice that it lacked alot of plot
it made sense when i made it but it got harder to follow from an outsiders perspective

i would love it if you can tell me your opinions on "We do this" my other video
also thanx for the feed back and im still workin on finding a smooth way of applying that opacity zoom effect you told me about
