The fun comes on how much they plan to hype the product. If they do it correctly the far right won't be starting any anti-anime crusades.

That's right. Hopefully she's not a potential Haruhi!

Her Winry got on my nerves for sounding too old. From that role alone I wouldn't have pegged her for doing Haruhi. I want someone who can get the same tone as the original....but then, I can't remember anything else other than FMA she's done so maybe she'd be a good choice.

Now, Renge....might not be too bad, I guess, given the contrast in tone. Gotta have someone who can really play the fangirl. Maybe they'll luck out and get a lady who's a RL slash fan!

yeah that was one of my reasons why i stuck to the jap version of FMA.

I think anime has become common enough that the mainstream doesn't notice it anymore. They undervalue some of it (oh, it's for teenagers and it has ninjas and crap), but they don't pay any attention otherwise. If any anime's going to "freak out the mundies" in 2008, it's Death Note. I don't think Ouran's going to draw much attention. It's another girly anime on the pile to most people.

I can imagine Vic Mignogna (sp?) as Hikaru. Hikaru? The love-interest twin. But I've been watching too much FMA recently, so I'm probably influenced by that.

(Yeahhhh, Tamaki is basically every non-evil Crispin Freeman role ever. I can see the entertainment value in getting the GenericPrinceCharacter Actor to play the ParodyGenericPrinceCharacter role, but doesn't anyone else get those roles? Ever?)

I'm actually curious about how they'll balance Haruhi's initial gender ambiguity. Unless it's not really as hard as I'm thinking it is. It's so common for high-school-aged male characters to be voiced by female VAs in Japan, but that doesn't seem to be the case in English, so it might "stick out" more.

I do hope that they can pull it off, because it adds something if we can believe that the silly fangirls in the story actually fall for her host persona.

Either way, Funimation's soon to get a whole pile of my money, so congratulations to them.

Im really curious about Hunny's voice o3o if they get the same person who did Momiji's english VA, ill pee in a sea of piss

id probably sit here about to explode if they stuck hunny with a mokona voice *shudders* hunny with a momiji voice is probably the only voice i can see with hunny...which is kinda funny coz hunny and momiji hav the same jap VA

this is gonna sound kinda random....but the only voice i can picture with haruhi would be the same voice as sango (inuyasha).....probably coz she did ukyos voice in ranma and she was able to pull off a guy and girl voice without havin to hav one of those wierd voices when girls try to do a guys voice

i rekon vic mignogna was great at fais voice in tsubasa but i just cant picture him as tamaki or any of the host club members

i agree with u. His voice was perfect for fai. though i think kyoya could be matched with his voice a bit. but Matsukaze Masaya was the best for him.
