Conflict Of The Trigun [episode 26 discussion]

Post by SadisticLint » Thu Jul 29, 2004 6:58 am

hey - hi - hello - guten tag - bonjour - aloha - hola! And any other greeting.

Me and my friends argue abotu teh last episode of Trigun.

In my opioin (and a few other friends) , Knives doesnt die, Cuz you dont bandage up a dead guy and carry him through the desert, plus he didnt shoot him in a vital spot.

But some of my friends still disagree.

So just a simple poll wondering what ya think it is.[/quote]

The idea behind the final parts of Trigun I have always held to be that at the end Vash sticks to his maxims and doesn't killl Knives.

"Restrictions breed creativity." - Mark Rosewater

A Freudian slip is where you say one thing, but mean your mother.

Wasn't the last scene with Vash and Knives playing chess or something?

It seemed pretty clear to me that Vash didn't kill Knives (although I think he should have, Knives was a whiny bitch  ).

Lol. No. It was Vash carrying Knives through the desert at the end of their battle. Unless I missed something. Which I highly hope not.

And I liked Knives! even though he had some problems. You still got to love the little weirdo. escpecailly, the little gay thing that goes on between him and legato. Well... maybe there not REALLY gay. But I can pretend can't I?

Yes you can. I like to think he lived. Why carry the cadaver when you could just bury it? Also, this thread came at the PERFECT time! Fic pimpin' time! Look down...

Obviously Knives is alive.

I think Vash was even smiling when he was carrying him through the desesrt, and Vash wouldn't smile having just killed his oldest friend.

I wouldn't consider Knives his friend. Its his brother.

Me and the girl who showed it to me believe his alive. (A season 2 would rule)

Nah, he didn't die. The series builds you up to know that by the end.
The spoiler I almost didn't catch wrote:Vash really only kills Legato. Yes, indirectly he deals in the deaths of the Gung-Ho guns, but he sticks his gun to Legato's head and pulls the trigger. Also, the fact that at the end of the fight he shoots him with regular bullets rather than the miracle-light gun thingy, and only through the arms and legs. Unless he bled to death in the desert, he's fine. That's where the open ending comes from. Why did he leave him alive? What are they going to do now? Is he going to change? Why the hell do the Japanese use open endings in almost every anime I've seen? We don't know.
To ZeWrestler:
Yes, a second season would rule, but the likelyhood of that sits somewhere around a second season of Hellsing, the only show I can think of off the top of my head with a more open ending than Trigun.

Post by Dylan's forcelance » Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:09 pm

KNIVES IS NOT DEAD!!! can we say duh? Neither is Legato. I'm not just saying that because I love him either. The series is not over. If you want a spoiler, Then I can arrange that for you. but as I said before, Knives is not dead! Trigun will live forever. Also, as for the comment about Trigun having bad anime, I should slap you for saying that. What is wrong with you? (Takes deep breath) Ok...I'm sorry...Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Forgive my outburst. But next time you want to dis on Trigun, I would think twice about doing it on a Trigun thread. :?
It is better to be pissed off then to be pissed on.
