Perftect Blue: what the ....?

Ok, I just watched Perfect Blue. I must say it was done pretty well. It looked like it was going to be pretty predictable and boring at first ... but ABSOLUTELY NOT. You are left at the end wondering what the heck was real, what was a dream, and what the crap was going on the whole time. Does anybody that has seen this understand it at all?

simple quicke explanation is that the confusion between her segway into being a actress, her pre-existing stress, and her violent stalker just leads into a distortion of reality, a lapse of sanity.

Ya, I got that much. But I mean, who was the one going insane? Was it Mima? Or her stalker? Was her manager insane? Was her manager actually her "other self" or whatever? I get that the whole transition to actress is messing her up, I just don't get what's real and what's not and who's who and what is from who's perspective.

ok, mima was going stir crazy because of the crap i said earlier, the stalker was pushed over the edge, over the edge because anyone who is willing to take an ass-whoopin to see a pop trio was nuts to begin with, and her manager, who i think snapped when all her failed j-pop hopes and ambitions were shattered again when mima decided to switch to acting.
simply put, they were all losing it, and decided to act out in different ways.
