R.O.D the TV
I'm not sure if they have a thread for this in Anime series but I might as well ask.
I've seen a few of the episodes to this show and was actually impressed a great deal by it. I only caught it towards the end I believe but I have a few questions concerning it.
How long is the series?
Is the series over?
What is the general plot?
What is the deal with the paper?
[paizuri: Moved from General Anime on 11/02/05.]

The first three questions can be answered here:

As for the last question, it's because manipulating paper can lead to really badass fight scenes (especially from Anita ).

In your last qestion, if by the paper you meant adjent paper ( Yomiko Readman ), you really need to see the origional movie Read or Die. The paper was an adjent of the British library special forces and fought against a group of cloned evil masterminds. There is a lot in the TV series that refers back to that movie. The movie is worth getting. There are 26 episodes to the tv series and it does come to a conclusion.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Hey thanks! I really did like that series and it's a good thing to know all that. I think I watched the last episode and never understood it but that was because some nights I couldn't stay up late enough and would miss a few episodes. I guess with this series you can't watch it, not watch it, then try to watch it again and understand it. You have to watch the movie and the whole series. Yea! Another series to add to my list of things to watch!oldwrench wrote:In your last qestion, if by the paper you meant adjent paper ( Yomiko Readman ), you really need to see the origional movie Read or Die. Re: R.O.D the TV
The entire series including the manga and listed in chronological order:older_gohan wrote:How long is the series?
Is the series over?
1) Read or Die (manga): 4 volumes (will be released next year by Viz)
2) Read or Die (OAV): 3 episodes
3) Read or Dream (manga): 4 volumes (currently unlicensed in US, not sure if there're more volumes to come)
4) R.O.D. TV: 26 episodes
There's also about 12+ novels with original stories that will probably never be released in the US. No idea if more will be animated, but I can only hope. The animation staff is currently working on Kamichu, so it could be a while before more R.O.D. goes into production.
