the only flaw factor in this anime it's his lack of seriousness and the fact that it is targeted only for kids( and i didn't watch the dub). the superpowers that the characters have lack logic. but other than that the anime is kinda good in a way to watch.

No, the intro is a dub not the original. I love the original soundtracks, it's awsome. I don't like the audio because it doesn't really fit anything to do with the story. Or am I just getting that because I saw the original version?

I LOVE this show and manga it's my favorite anime and I am Luffy's number one fangirl!!! Yeah the dub sucks but what are you gonna do ya know? The voices are ok Sanji's irks me a bit and they way they changed Ace to Trace and Zoro to Zolo is annoying, I heard they changed Zoro's name cause it was copyright or something (disney owns that name) and Ace cause they didn't want kids to gamble 0_o

One Piece Dubbed=Worste thing ive ever watched

One Piece Subbed= Very solid anime, with many twists and one hell of a story.

It doesnt really amaze me that "Ultimate" was not bothered by it, its more like im confused as to how its even possible that he was not bothered by it.

Well, I'm so against 4Kids I think ill post this....

4KIDS! THEY HAVE A DEATHWISH! THEY’VE JUST PROVED THAT THEY MUST *WANT* TO DIE! EITHER THAT OR THEY SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE ANY SOULS WHATSOEVER! OR MAYBE JUST NO BRAINS WHATSOEVER. IT WOULD TAKE SOMEONE WITH HALF A BRAIN TO SEE THAT ONE PIECE IS NOT A FREAKING CHILDREN’S CARTOON! IT’S AVERAGE AUDIENCE IS AGED 15-30! NOT FOR UNDER 10s! THE CHANGES ARE SO AWFUL THEY MAY HAVE WELL RENAMED THE SHOW ‘ONE-PIECE-OH!’ THIS JUST MIGHT BE *THE* WORST DUB EVER! EEEEVER! THIS COULD PROBABLY EVEN SURPASS CARDCAPTORS! NOOO! Now when I calm down, I will try to explain just SOME of the horrors instore. *tries to calm down* *good enough* Okay, first things first. ‘We Are!’ was an odd song, but it was fitting enough for the One Piece theme. But no, 4kids had to take the ‘we’re cool’ approach (in other words the ‘we suck and everyone hates us’ approach) by changing the opening theme to...yes, a PIRATE RAP SONG! (And I quote: ‘Yohoho! He took a bite of GUM GUM!) That alone would be enough to curse 4kids to hell and eternal suffering, but it gets far worse, trust me. Naturally, they pulled a VIZ and changed Gomu Gomu to Gum Gum. This wouldnt enrage me quite as much if it werent for the fact that they believe guns are unsuitable for children’s programs, thus Luffy isnt allowed to say ‘Pistol’. It’s ‘Gum Gum Blast’. As for the REAL guns, well they’re all gone. Blood and violence? Sayoonara. Nami kicking gits in the crotch? Snip. Anything that made One Piece funny, great and enjoyable? Bye byes! In fact, the end result has had many people who never saw the original saying that it’s ‘boring’ and ‘not funny at all’. (sticks more knives in 4kids voodoo dolls) But just when you think it cant get any more pointless, we remember the glorious Sanji-sama. Oh dear boys and girls, smoking is bad, we cant let the brainless retards who watch our crap see that! says 4kids. I’ve got a great idea! Lets digitally edit the guys TRADEMARK and ESSENCE OF SANJI into a LOLLYPOP! Oh great idea! Maybe now we’ll finaly die like we deserve! And the voices. I swear, my heart almost stopped when I heard Luffy speak. The thing about the voice-acting in One Piece is that it’s so god damn PERFECT. Every voice suits every character PERFECTLY! You can just hear the amount of effort and devotion that the voice-actors had to bring their characters to life. But hey, with 4kids, effort and devotion dont exist. Luffy sounds like...well I dont even know. Like some stupid thing out of a 50’s cartoon comes to mind, but it’s not Luffy. It sounded like they tried to make him sound funny like he does in the original, but whereas Luffy sounds funny, spastic yet cool in the proper version, English Luffy just sounds ohmygodI’mgonnathrowupallovermykeyboardIcantbelieve howhorrible4kidsare-ish. Zoro, or should I say ‘Zolo’ (why on EARTH...) sounds nothing short of lame. I dont wanna know about the others. Also, instead of Fluffy Luffy, or Lufy (with the ‘u’ pronounced like the ‘oo’ in ‘cook’) they pronounce his name ‘Loofy’. As in, rhymes with Goofy. Oh dear god...*cries and breaks more furniture* There’s a hundred other things that are so pointless I have no idea why they wasted the time to do them in the first place. All I know is that I’m too blinded with rage to remember.

One Piece is a masterpiece of story-telling, wit and the coolest characters I’ve ever come across. To have that all ruined and reduced to this utter, indescribable crap is one of the greatest tragedies of this age. I actually sincerely hope Oda-sama NEVER learns of this horror, or he will most likely either have a heart attack or become so depressed he wont create such wonders for us anymore.

I really, really, really hate 4kids.

I'll finish it off with a nice site re-capping every single thing 4kids had the sudden impulse in removing.

btw.. TheBerserker if you watched the "Subbed" and you think one piece is "4kids"(haha, Funny) go slay yourself.

Theres blood, plenty of comedy that kids would not even begin to understand, and an amazing amount of Sanji humor, something that would never be added to a kids show(anime)

I'de say the taget audience is 15+

they pronounce it zolo in the japanese version anyways

and whether a show is for kids or not... whatever, just enjoy it

For the record, "Zolo" and "Zoro" are pronounced and written identical in Japanese, and the copyright on the name is a major issue. Not that the character wasn't named after the masked hero, but it's not that bad of an edit and kind of legally necessary. Even in the english version of the manga, which is not dumbed-down at all, it is written as "Zolo".

Not hating at all, just thought I'd point it out. And I am not in any way, shape, or form trying to defend 4kids and their edits. Even if they wanted to make the show kid-friendly (and as sad as it is that they're so desperate for material), a better job of it could've been done.

Yes, such as the scene that was deleted by 4Kids where Bon Clay flashed everyone when he copied Nami's face.

You've got love the Navy Super Soakers, or the fact that one of Shank's crew members whacked off a guy with a cork gun in episode 4, or "killing" Usopp with a rubber knife instead of Nami stabbing the back of her hand, or how about sending Bellémere to the dungeon instead of shooting her in the head, or even better when 4Kids changed the color of one of Buggy's crew members skin color to white. The one thing that 4Kids could do is...have they're dub version if they want but bring out the original for the older ones to enjoy as well. One of my friends, he's got One Piece from On-line, illegal I know. He always has a DVD copies of everything he's got but the only reason he hasn't gotten the DVDs is because they Dubbed it so awfully. So, if they were to bring out the Dub version for children and original version for teens and older, he'll buy the DVDs without a question. I know it'll cost more to do both versions but I think for the serious ANIME fans out there, it might not be a bad idea to consider.
