There wasn't as much character background [in the anime] as there should have been, and a lot of things that would've made the characters more believable were left out (i.e. the whole Tessla thing and Vash trying to commit suicide when he was a kid).

Assuming the Wikipedia dates are correct (my Google-fu is failing me today), then Madhouse only had the original Trigun volumes to work with.

Yup, that he does, along with Canada in Akira and Kiba in Wolf's rain. Johnny Yong Bosch is my favorite voice actor

And yes, he was the black Power Ranger. I think it was the original Mighty Morphin series too, which is just too cool.

This is going to be embarrassing...I have lots of anime characters I like, whether it's voice or drawing. When it comes to voices, I don't know any voice actors. If I've been told or read it somewhere, I'll forget it within hours and won't be able to remember again. And, if I think one character sounds exactly the same as another character, I'll refer to the person as "oh, that's the person from that anime..."

Yeah, I'm usually the same way, but for some reason his voice is so distinct to me that I actually did a little research on him to see what all he has done. He's a pretty cool guy
