Say it isn't so! Only 14 episodes?!? That would make episode 9 the last chronologically of the series. Assuming of course they plan to fill in all the holes they've made. It was a great episode, but for the middle of a series, not the end. Does anyone know if the manga keeps going, or if they're likely to do another season at some point?ANN wrote:Haruhi Trivia
Speculation says that Kyoto Animation's decision to end this anime at 14 episodes is due to their restaffing of manpower to work on the upcoming Kanon remake. This most likely is not true, however, since most anime episode counts are decided before the anime is aired.

I wasn't sure whether to be mad at this episode or not. I mean, there was a definite lack of action, but at the same time the way they did it was really funny to me. When Yuki was just sitting there reading I was thinking, "WTF?" but it was so off the wall I just had to laugh. I think only this series could make me laugh out of boredom. Because you know they were doing it just to mess with us. But I definitely liked the end of the episode, it was kind of sweet.
And hope its not just 14 eps either.

This just hit me. The whole "Yuki reading quietly scene" just screams scenes I watched from Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou or to a certain extent Binchou-tan. Nothing happens, but don't you get a sense of peacefulness and tranquility? Given the amount of craziness that probably happened in past episodes, this is a welcome break.

Hopefully, since the novels that the anime are based on have many more stories, the manga at least should keep going even though the TV series may end. My hope is that the ratings are high enough that KyoAni will continue with a second or third season after they finish the Kanon remake.Coffee 54 wrote:Say it isn't so! Only 14 episodes?!? Plus, poor Kyon needs some "quiet time".

Hmm... a sequel... I don't know... I've been burned before (Gundam SEED Destiny, Rozen Maiden Traumend)...
I feel that if a sequel is made, it'd be based on money and ratings rather than perhaps the original creative drive behind it unless it was intended to be that way from the start (ie. the difference between the Lord of the Rings Trilogy compared to Jurassic Park Trilogy) so I'm a bit apprehensive to the thought of a sequel... let's just see how this one finishes up first.
