just a couple things:
is that really L's official name, or an online joke?....
is that really L's official name, or an online joke?....
(oh wait! did you see it in one of those scenes of light writing in the deathnote later....?!)
did light really tell Naomi that he was L? In the manga he just told her he was working close to L...
whats kainda funny is that Ed's 5'6", and he's taller than me. ............and he's called short..............*sigh*

supposedly it is correct BUTFullmetal Hottie wrote:just a couple things:

and in response to your second quote:L's name spoiler wrote:L's name is NEVER uttered in the manga. he is only known as the alias Ryuuzaki.
That's right fullmetal, in the manga Light never claims to be L. The interpretation in the anime however comes from Naomi's response, 'So talking to you is like talking to the investigation, no, L.'

Response wrote:L's real name is never mentioned in the actual manga story, although I believe it's mentioned in the 2nd movie. But it is actually in Volume 13 of the Death Note Manga. The manga ends at Volume 12, but they released a 13th volume to explain a lot of loose ends in the story including L's real name. It comes with a card with L's name on it. Here's a picture of the card.

Episode 9......oh it's on now!
And also....hahaha, Ryuk is addicted to apples like they're cigarettes!Light and L has finally met face to face during their college orientation! And supposedly Ryuuga Hideki is L, but obviously Light suspects it to be a fake. Of course, it doesn't matter now since any immediate action Light does to L will bring suspicion towards him.
I guess from this point forward, Light and L are going to up their game of outsmarting each other. Hmm, I wonder when that'll last.

episode 10...who knew that so much went on in the heads of tennis players
end of semester things are inhibiting my thought process...so I might have more stuff to add later
as a note, I have read one volume of the manga (well...at least part of it) and the section is coming up pretty soon when light imprisons himself to prove that he's not kiraspoiler wrote:Ryuzaki inviting Light to be on the kira case should prove to be interesting at the very least.
for awhile, it seemed that Light was loosing it in the cafe or wherever they were.
Those tapes at the end of the episode seem very interesting...can't wait to see what they have on them.

As much hype I've heard for this show, I'm rather disappointed. The premise is amusing but ultimately, short of some major plot twist that actually works out instead of a sad attempt to keep you interested, foregone, if not foreseen. Even in the off chance that the outcome is radically different, will it make sense? Doubtful.
However, the play back and forth is fun and not often seen, pretty much the only reason for me to watch it.
What's the status on the movies? Fansubbed? Released locally?

In all honesty, I'm also getting tired of the show. I think it's due to having read the manga already, and the show is not offering anything new or exciting. The music is great, and it's nice eye candy, but I'm finding the plot tedious and the characters predictable.Orwell wrote:As much hype I've heard for this show, I'm rather disappointed. I'll keep watching, as I'm curious if they're going to do the whole series "by the book" or attempt to switch things up a bit. There are a couple sequences I look forward to seeing. (Unfortunately, there are a couple that I'm hoping the anime will skip but likely won't.)
I think it's a bit too long - if the producers cut out an arc or two in the middle the show will be stronger for it. I just think that's unlikely to happen, considering it's slated for a 37 episode run.
