You could probably even get away with watching 02 without watching 01. I showed my friend the Digimon Emperor miniseries and she hadn't watched all of 01 and she fell in love with it. 01 and 02 characters intermix a bit, and some things that happen in 01 get finished in 02, but you won't miss out on too much.angelx03 wrote:vebs wrote:
So I don't miss anything serious if I don't watch the Adventure 1 and 02?
In Tamers, on tv, the first three episodes were shown together, it is kind of a three-parter at least, but it's all a continuing story.
I like showing newbies the Frontier first season ep, because you don't need to know anything to enjoy it, and it's pretty self-contained. Gives you a good idea of what to expect.
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

(Sorry for the multi-post)
In 01, allies and friends of the main characters they meet along the way get killed and there is a level of darkness with that. But in 02, Tamers, and Frontier, *main* characters die, and things get much more interesting. Adoption, family loss/grief, even suicide, just lots of great stuff ya don't want to miss out on. Unlike Pokemon, Digimon is a story of surviving numerous dangers, both inside and out. At a certain point, unlike other "made for kids" anime dubs, these dubbers *get it*, and not only does the true spirit of the original come through, but it's made personal to an American audience that kids of *all* ages can love.

Digimon Adventure, Digimon Tamers, Digimon Frontier. Maybe they wanted to release it as something new to attract new people to it. Savers or Data Squad is pretty dynamically different from the last four seasons. I wonder when Disney or Jetix will release its fall schedule. I've looked recently, can't find any info on that yet. Guess we gotta stay tuned.Beast Spear wrote:The name "Data Squad" was a very horrible choice. Especially considering that just called all the other ones "Digimon" I don't know why they had to change it now at 5.
I heard it was going to start airing soon, but I have yet to find it. Anyone know?
Keenan? C'mon kids, say it with me. I-ku-to...
