Theres nothing TO calm down about, I was never angry. I just dont like it when someone talks about how much the anime in question sucks to them, wether its their opinion or not, in a thread asking if anyone LIKES it. It defeats the whole purpose of the thread itself. If everyone posts saying how they hate Gundam seed, instead of the posts saying they like it, the thread will go off topic.

"If your gonna rant about NOT liking it, then dont fucking post, kay?" -- Doesn't exactly sound calm by any stretch of the imagination.

That said, show me where J-0080 said he thought it sucked...he simply said he couldn't get into it. That's technically not defeating the purpose of the thread. Just cause it asks if anyone likes it in the title does not necessarily mean people are forbidden to say less than glowing things about it. The thread is effectively open to (ideally) all constructive opinions of the show, good or bad.

Me...I thought it was... ...allright. It had potential to be a great series...but everytime it came close to doing something new or groundbreaking, it shied away from the line...

This was a damned shame if you ask me, since I really had high hopes for this show when it first started...then it just kept sliding (between the first few arcs being a blow-for-blow retread of the original MSG, as well as several other fun nabs from other Gundam titles (...actually, I have to admit, this became a bit of a fun game after a while...spotting all the nods to the earlier series. Been able to find hints towards every show except for 0080...)

It's a good show for getting started in Gundam...but if you've already been pretty entrenched in the franchise, it's all been done before, so it loses a lot of its thrill.

Almost forgot. One of the one pluses I'll give Gundam SEED compared to other titles...

Gundam SEED Astray is prob. one of the best of the manga sidestories I've read (...stop teasing us with 5 minutes Bandai, give this a full OVA set!)

Indeed, which is why I found O-Kagachi's trollish remark bemusing.

sorry man.. Ive been in a really bad mood lately cause of insomnia and Extreme Heat. I was just pointing out that if you didnt like the series, that it would be better if you didnt point that out. Kay? sorry once again.

Well we are on the topic of Flay, I'm split. I like her body (hehehe), but in my opinion, she's a bitch, and a whore. First she leads on Sai, then switches to Kira, the dude she hates, then expects Sai to take her back after she thinks Kira is dead. On top of that, she's a psyco!!! Like in the episode after she and Kira sleep together, she just sits there in her underwear (hehehe again) watching a battle with these freaky hollow eyes, saying in this dead sounding voice "He will fight to protect us, because he wants to protect me." It's scary!!!! Then a little more recently, even though she's doing Kira, she tries to blow off the head of the Buster pilot saying that she hates all Co-ordinaters. WTF?!!!

And that concludes my rant about Flay and her psyco, whorish ways.

SEED is probably my favorite of the entire series, followed by the original, 0083 and Wing. Looking forward to what SEED Destiny has in store for me.

Flay wasn't my favorite character, and I'll admit I hated her for the first half of the series, but she grew on me as I got to see what she was really like and found her to be just as realistic as all of the other characters.

My insight with spoilers wrote:At the beginning of the series we find that she's spoiled and really selfish, not someone anyone would really like. Things get really dark for her when she witnesses the death of her father in the heat of a battle. Her anger turns towards Kira because she blames him for not being able to protect her dad. She later decides to break up with her boyfriend and hook up with Kira, although she's just playing with his emotions the entire time. She succeeds in convincing him to love her in order to ensure he'll protect her. As time goes on however, Kira is unable to tolerate Flay's selfish attitude and promptly ends the relationship. In desperation, Flay tries to get back together with her old boyfriend, but he declines. Later in the series, she is kidnapped Raww le Krueze and discovers that while the coordinators hold different ideals, they share similar values with the naturals. She also finds a little comfort within le Krueze, and we see she never needed a lover, she was searching for a father figure. When she is released, she begins to realize how badly she had treated her friends, especially Kira, just for being a coordinator. Her full intentions from then on were to reunite with her allies and make amends concerning the way she behaved. Unfortunately, she is killed, quite horribly I thought, by le Krueze and doesn't get the chance. Her spirit does make its way to Kira and she finally offers her apology.

I think the reason Flay is so disliked is because many viewers probably quit watching the series at some point and never got to see her whole story, or they couldn't let go of their first impressions of her and never gave a shit afterwards.

DAMN THT WHITE HAIRED ANTI HERO TYPE!!! arrgh.. women never deserve to die liek that. the asshole.. Char could give him lessons though in how to be more evil i guess. but they bout pretty even on that level.
