I'm hoping Eclipse-SS will be subbing this one, so I hope they'll do like they did with Kanon 2006 and shoot for a 24 hour release, even if it does mean I have to wait a little longer for Shana :/ (also don't know who's raw they'll be using, although I did notice an S^M one this morning when I checked.)

just saw ep1, i can tell already that this anime is going to be as good if not better than Kanon and definitely something I will end up making a drama AMV to. I just hope that like Kanon, the arc of all the girls will link with the main girl, judging from ep1 it looks like this will happen. And wow Chun Li girl, Mai from Kanon has a rival? :P

Aww, 1min 30s was enough to deepen my love for KyoAni. Those color effects were really awesome. <3

Alrite first ep.

Well it definitely moved a bit faster than Kanon. But i will say this. WTF is with those blinds transitions? Its like Kyoani threw their stuff in Vegas o_O

That aside, it was a pretty enjoyable first episode. As predicted, half of the girls piss me off at the start, but like Kanon i assume they'll grow on me (cant say the rest of the girls in Air were that great though).

However...

FUKOOOOO WHY WAS SHE NOT IN THIS EPISODE :< I CLAIM FUKO AMV. THE END.

Well, there's nothing much to spoil in terms of plot since as usual it's mostly introductions at a pretty brisk paced. Though I have to say, those transition wipes were pretty iffy. In this series, we are introduced to main male lead named Tomoya Okazaki who pretty much hates his city due to some bad memories connected to it. Then he met up with a girl named Nagisa Furukawa, and obviously stuff is going to change. There were quite of bit of hilarious moments here such as:
Spoiler :
- Tomoya's friend Youhei Sunohara has the potential of being the next side-male punching bag for the rugby team and Tomoyo Sakagami.

- In fact Tomoyo is SO FREAKIN' COOL! No wonder she has her own spinoff game! :o

- That little moment of Ryou Fujibayashi doing her fortune telling was amusing. You thought she was being clumsy when she fumbled shuffling the cards, but was it part it? Who knows; she was able to tell his fortune.

- Oy, that book Ryou's sister Kyou threw at Tomoya looks like it's going to be painful if he got hit!

- The dynamics between Nagisa's parents were very refreshing and hilarious! I can see how the theme of family is going to be incorporated.
There were some interesting events that happened as well.
Spoiler :
- I wonder what that vision Tomoya thought up is about. He felt like the world he's in is all stagnant with nothing changing until he met a mysterious girl who feels that she's alone. He actually started to worry about her. I sense foreshadowing!

- Now here's concept that's rarely dealt with! Seems like Tomoya is absolutely ashamed towards his dad for being a deadbeat ever since his mom died.
The OP sequence is very slick as usual though I actually find myself liking the ED sequence a bit more. It's really simple yet really innocent in representing family and community. Yeah, I'm pretty sappy! And everyone loves a dango! ^_^'

After watching three different releases, I'm not sure which group to stick with. I liked Philanthropy-Sekai a little less, but TWH-Sprocket and SS-Eclipse each have their good points. And since they are all based from the same raw (S^M), I'll probably decide with the later episodes.

After watching it through the second time, I noticed that
Spoiler :
after school, Tomoya went to different places in town just to spend time (like sitting on a bench) because he didn't want to go home. As said at the beginning he doesn't like to be at home and later we get to know why.

By the way, anyone else noticed some similiarity between the duos Kyou/Ryou and Kagami/Tsukasa?:D

I'm going with Eclipse for this one. As per usual.

Loving the OP for this anime, pure class.

EDIT: finished episode one. I can see this getting very deep in the future. I like the balance of the sentimental mixed with some light-hearted moments. I found myself smiling throughout the episode. Oh, and did I mention just how much class the OP has?
