Re: Bakemonogatari
Episode 3 was lulzy out the ass. One epic conversation after another. I'm ready to declare best anime of the season.

Episode delivered in a huge way. Awesome treatment of characters. Continued development regarding stationery girl, in a really fun and clever (and of course blatant) way =
And the obsession with weird architecture, not to mention managing to pull of a whole episode in a very small, minimalistic space and with limited visual language like that = ART.
This hasn't gotten worse, but only much better. So far.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'll have to mention it here too, but I think they followed the artistotelic units in the 3rd episode, which I found slightly amusing.

Also, epic fight scene.

Episode 3
Development: Check
Fanservice: Check
Humor: Check
Epic Fight Scene: Check
I could not believe that I was actually entertained by an episode that centered on one conversation.
The ladder half actually made me laugh and I haven't laughed while watching an anime for a good while

Re: Bakemonogatari
I get the feeling she's a runaway or something. This must be the next problem character. Not to mention the huge back pack.
As for the convo... Well it held my attention for its duration, kinda suprised when I noticed the episode was almost over. Had that screaming inward feeling the whole time though going: "JUST SAY YOU LIKE EACH OTHER ALREADY."
Now he ended up refusing probably cause he thought it was just a reward and not true feelings. Not a problem cause now the plot is setup for a epic confession later on down the road. Either way this and princess lover are the only 2 animes I'm still watching this season and were only on episode 3. I can't seem to break away from the nicely animated romance/drama animes regardless of what I do.
Might keep watching tokyo magnitude 8.0 just for its originality in hopes the plot becomes interesting.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Re: Bakemonogatari
I finally sat down and watched the first 3 episodes of this last night. I have to say, both animation and artistic value are superb. The concept is rather intriguing in its own right as well. I look forward to seeing where this goes from here.

Doesn't the animation style remind anyone of Soul Taker? It does for me ...
This series is fun stuff.
