This type of show just screams an ADV dub especially since they have more experience dealing with this type of stuff. Of course the one question is how will they handle the Haruhi Suzumiya "cameos"? Keeping some English dub continuity will be tricky.Kumatora wrote:I wonder how that would work in the English dub. Heck, how would that work in any dub?

The other thing would be the whole Haruhi licensing thing if Bandai doesn't get it. I wonder if it'd be a legal nightmare.angelx03 wrote:This type of show just screams an ADV dub especially since they have more experience dealing with this type of stuff. I don't think that will be problem, since I think that it will be like Haruhi, with Kadokawa licensing the series itself, with another company in charge of production and distribution.Kumatora wrote:The other thing would be the whole Haruhi licensing thing if Bandai doesn't get it. You have a point. How many scenes are there of Haruhi characters talking in the show?TnAdct1 wrote:I don't think that will be problem, since I think that it will be like Haruhi, with Kadokawa licensing the series itself, with another company in charge of production and distribution.Kumatora wrote:The other thing would be the whole Haruhi licensing thing if Bandai doesn't get it. There's "Kyon" and "Yuki" in the episode where they go to Konata's workplace. Although technically they are just people cosplaying as those characters. And then there's Haruhi...Kumatora wrote:You have a point. As for Haruhi actors that had roles in LS, here's a list:
Aya Hirano (Haruhi) - Konata, Konata as "Haruhi", Konata as "Yuki", "Haruhi" in the soda commercial, and as herself
Minori Chiharu (Yuki) - Minami, "Yuki" cosplayer, and as herself
Tomokazu Sugita (Kyon) - "Kyon" cosplayer and Clerk Sugita (or as himself, in a way)
Daisuke Ono (Itsuki) - as himself
Yuko Goto (Mikuru) - Gotouzer-sama (or as herself, in a way)
Minoru Shiraishi (Taniguchi) - as himself and other various voices

Interestingly thing is that Lucky Star had other anime cameos from other series that are licensed by ADV like Pani Poni Dash, Full Metal Panic, Air TV, and Keroro Gunsou (if they ever get a chance to release it) so pulling some continuity out of that shouldn't prove to be a problem if ADV gets a chance to work on this..
