FINAL EPISODE!!!
That was by far the BEST ending I have seen in a very, VERY long time! I especially love the kiss Kyon gave to Haruhi; it's extremely beautiful especially when they're about to get pounded by those blue giant things.
Final verdict: FU**ING MASTERPIECE. There hasn't been one episode that's been extremely weak which bogged down the entire series. Combined with gorgeous animation, very likable characters, extremely witty dialouge, and the absolute boldness of SHUFFLING episodes and still get the point across is nothing short but amazing. Not to mention all those non-pretentious scientific terms thrown around which will forever be discussed for years to come.

I have a feeling this series will be the next landmark anime title to go along with the likes of Cowboy Bebop, Eva, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc., and it's not even an action title. :D

Possibility of second season.......oh god make it happen!

That bit at the end was fast thinking on Kyon's part.

...is it sad that I recognized the trick he used to hide Mikuru's pictures?

I must have missed that trick. Did create a hidden folder or something?

Perfect way to end... err I mean middle. Perfect way to middle. To echo some of the earlier sentiments, Haruhi was fan-freakin-tastic and will definately be missed from my weekly anime line-up. Oh well, it'll be licensed soon enough and a follow-up series(s) is pretty much a give in, considering the popularity of this run.

Great ending. Except I'm still wondering what that thing on Kyon's neck is (end of ep8).

The speed in which the subbed episode 14 was done in comparison to the previous ones was surprising.

Episode 14 had so many 'wins', it would be too long a list to write down. But to sum up, KyoAni created an episode that made us - the viewers - not want to leave this world of Haruhi Suzumiya and Merry Friends, mirroring Kyon's desire to stay in his original one. The desire for a second season is pretty widespread.
SpoilerProtector™ wrote:The only thing that makes me melancholy about this episode is that for once, Haruhi is genuinely happy in Closed Space alone with Kyon and the Shinjin running amok. I mean, WOW. Especially compared to her previous foul mood. To have Kyon bring her back to the real world makes me a bit sad. Although the look on Haruhi's face as Kyon goes in for the kill was awesome.
The animation, as usual was very well done. The scene with Haruhi braiding Mikuru's hair was very impressive. Not to mention Kyon flipping the Othello pieces over in his game with Itsuki.

And at 23:04, I noticed a couple of ENOZ members sitting beneath a tree.

Sleeping Beauty...

yeaaahhh....

ONE OF THE BEST ENDINGS EVAR!!!!

Sadly, it's close to my top 10, but it's a little over-the-top for me... KyoAni r0x0rs though, it's up there tied with Gonzo and MadHouse for BEST ANIME PRODUCTION COMPANY EVAR!!! Poor Bandai Visual dropped down a chunk ;(
