Yeah, my Mom's like that, too. She pronounces Inuyasha 'Inuwasha'. Then again, my Dad used to call the show "Boopsy and the Incredible Dog-Boy". It took forever for me to figure out that he actually liked the show. :? :)

It's funny, my Dad's a bit into anime but doesn't read manga (he says it's not so much out of lack of interest as lack of time). Mom won't watch any anime, or cartoons in general usually, but is really enjoying some manga series. @.@

My mom doen't like Inuyasha because of the demons, monks, evil spirits, etc.

So when I'm around her I say IY, youkai, miko, whatever, and she pronounces it "Iesha" (eye-ee sha) :? :x :?

Mom doesn't have a problem with it, persay. She just doesn't like fantasy. (Except for Harry Potter, and then she kept saying "I can't believe I'm *liking* this!") It's too bad your mom feels that way. I find it rather strange, after all it's all pretend. As long as it isn't taken *too* seriously there isn't a problem. (But I have some funny ideas, I guess.)

my mom hates harry potter and so do I!!!!!

After explaining what anime is to her and InuYasha is just another show she's I only a bit *okay* with it. Actually the reason she doesn't like it is this: I used go on and on about InuYasha, and then she goes "I'm gonna see what is this 'Iesha'(she says through spelling) you keep talking about." and stays up one night to look at one of my most hated episodes(her and I are blood determind christins that is why I didn't like it and neither did she)'Curse of the 50 year old Dark Priestess' she sat and looked at the entire episode!

I would have lied and said it didn't come on today but it was my only chance to record it and I didn't have the VCR in my room then(which now is broken)She went all out and said "That show is all about demons and mess like that, I forbid you to ever watch that show ANYMORE!!!!!!"

It completely broke my heart. As time went by my mom forgot and I tried to make a clean slate and try again with the anime thing......I'm still in the process of convincing

Lol, mom pronounces it as In-yuu-ah-shah or In-shuu-sah-sha. When she pronounces the 2nd one, she stops, then says "Heh heh..Sasha..he's a she then..!" @_@

Mom likes Sailor Moon and magical girl anime if she watched any..

Dad..i've so far gotten him to watch 1-2 eps of InuYasha, 1 ep of Petite Princess Yucie (Yucie and Cocaloo seemed like they were bi or something in that one ep.. o_O), some of DBZ (a LONG time ago), some of Fruits Basket, and there's more but i can think of them.. I want him to watch FMA but i can't get him to.. > >

Dad has so far gotten me to watch Colorful (he's seen all of the eps..that thing is just..perverted..liked watching some of the pervs get clobbered though XP), about 5-6 eps of Evangelion, X the Movie (KAMUI-KUN! *hugs plushie*), and Nausica (only because he was making fun of it XD)

(back to the topic..sorta...)

I got my dad to play IY:Fuedal Combat with me and sis one day!! He didn't know much about the characters or anything..and he still beat sis! XD I beat both of them though..till dad got better and beat me... @_@ That day, mom woke up at 2pm and came out, looked at the screen and said "Is that In-yuu-ah-shah?" and sis said "Yeah.." and mom burst out laughing. We asked her why she was laughing and she said "Are you sure he's not a she!?" <-refering to his long hair XP

One time i was playing IY:SOCM (ya know..the RPG...) and she noticed all the characters were chibi, and said "Why are you playing a kiddy game!?" then InuYasha cussed after getting hit and she looked like this -> o_O

(she calls most of my games kiddy games.. o__O)

Funny, I'm a devout Christian too and I don't have a problem with Harry Potter or that episode.

Anyway, that is probably a bad episode to start someone off on. (Though if her problem was the demons, I can't think of an episode that would be good to start her on. I mean, some of the main characters are demons!)

Yunacat. Nifty! You have the video games? Cool. ^_^ Your sister sounds funny.

I think it might have would've been better if she started off on a shippo episode or a Inuyasha-human one or maybe episode 82,where Kagome is in her era,....you know a funny one then move on to action! 8-)

Lol, she is.. (i mean..her location on one forum says "Help! I'm trapped in the middle of a battlefield and i forgot how to tie my shoes!" and in one topic on that forum, she got mad because i forgot to add to her the list of who was with me on my bday, and she said "Fine! Forget your own sister!! *runs dramatically into the sunset* *tackles a footbal player and keeps running*".. o_O).. She goes to the org too, but she doesn't post on the forums.. She made an AMV (on my computer XP) and i edited it. I didn't really do much at all to it.. > > Her name is Ayathemaiden btw..

~~
And yeah, i have the games. I have the one for PS1 that came out in the US, the newer version that came out on PS2 (which i thought was fun), and the RPG (which has about different endings..i only got one because i didn't try for anymore yet...). I also have a few others..

-InuYasha: Sengoku O Togi Kassen (known as "A Fuedal Fairy Tale" in the US) for PS1 = I thought that, even though the graphics were low grade and fighting was two way (meaning you can only go back or forward and that's it..) that it was fun. My best characters to play were Kouga and Miroku.

-InuYasha: Fuedal Combat for PS2 = This one was much much better than the first one. You had more characters, better attacks, better specials, an interactive enviroment, and you could move 8 way!^^

-InuYasha: Jusou no Kamen (known as "Secret of the Cursed Mask" in the US) for PS2 = This is one of my fav games. There's a bunch of ways you can go after a certain point, the battles and attacks are entertaining, you get to play either a girl or guy that follows the original cast on their adventure, and best of all..everyone is chibified!! X3

-InuYasha RPG (forgot the actual name) for PS1 = This was an import, and i never beat it because i'm not good at Japanese, especially Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.. I figured out some of it, but i find that some of it seemed like riddles to me because, since i couldn't understand them, i couldn't figure out everything i was supposed to do.. It's not a bad game though. I thought it was pretty fun for an old RPG...^^ (it's been a REALLY long time since i've played it too..)

Some others i haven't played:

-InuYasha for WSC
-InuYasha 2 for WSC
-InuYasha: Kagome no Sengoku Yume Hiki for WSC
-InuYasha: Fuun Emaki for WSC

Note: WSC stands for Wonderswan Color.
Note 2: I know there's more for the WSC list, but i can't remember them all.. @_@
