There's a problem with your theory and here it is:
Kishimoto already confirmed that the Tobi we see is in fact Madara. The same Madara as the guy who helped Itachi massacre his clan. Itachi revealed that Madara was the first person to ever achieve the Enternal Mangekyou Sharingan, so he would have no need for Itachi's or Sasuke's eyes.
My belief is this: Since Madara would be long dead (200 years ago or something), he probably found a way to preserve his memories. While Obito was dying, he somehow implanted his mind into Obito, and became what he is now. That we, he still retains Obito's physique and some of his traits, but the body is under Madara's control.

Actually, given his physical characteristics (and the fact that he only shows his right eye), this might very well be possible. It'd be really interesting seeing what Kakashi would do seeing Madara in the body of his best friend. Already a list of possibilities must be going through his head, but I doubt they would land on either Obito or Madara.
Never the less, it's definitely Madara (either in his own body, or having taken Obito's body).
The anime is finally widescreen. The 54th shipuuden is finally widescreen. I didn't like it that it was a filler, but I watched it anyway. Better watching something new then seeing what you know from the manga already
New intro is pretty awesome... why couldn't the rest of the animation be like this?

Well, Tobi/Madara = Obito is still a possibility, but it's growing fainter by the second.
Tobi/Madara is supposed to be the big villain. He controls the Akatsuki, the strongest jutsus all around, and has an awesome personality.
But here's the thing. If he was Obito, a weakling ninja who had a relationship to Kakashi a long time ago, wouldn't it be awfully anticlimactic?
I mean, sure, he massacred a clan and is in the position to take over the world, but wait! He's STUCK in the body of the same guy as the kid who was briefly mentioned in some side chapters, who also happened to be an acquaintance of a relatively weak jonin (compared to the remaining Akatsuki). DO NOT WANT.
Alright, this next little piece is something that hit me while I was cutting some plants up.....

What if its itachi's best friend? The one who died? Think about it. The guy says he knows Itachi better than anyone. And Itachi looked up to *insert name here, I can't remember it*. The guy would obviously know all about itachi.
What if he faked his death? And the note they found was indeed written by him?
What if he and itachi share views on the uchiha clan and they both set out to destroy it.
come on, Madara? He was the first! uchiha, he'd be hundreds of years old.
Its either Obito or Itachis best friend.

btw, did anyone notice that only one of sasuke's eyes changed into the sharingan when he looked at Tobi? Maybe it was just how the lighting was, but...could mean something..
Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.
At this point it's leaning towards Tobi being Madara... remember, to acquire Mangekyou, you must KILL your best friend, so Itachi's friend is long gone, otherwise Sasuke would've acquired Mangekyou

That would be an interesting aspect to base theories on. I mean if he was in a kind of choma it would be an ease for "Obito" (if it is him) to get the eye he misses, but on the other hand. It is the right eye Sasuke misses on the picture and Obito already has his right eye...
