it'd be a little tough to position the notes right, but WHAM! instant copy
The rules say (I don't remember if in the manga or somewhere in the pilot) but it says you can't use carbon paper, markers, paste letters from another source or photocopies.

No, carbon paper will work, the 7th set of rules state....

The instrument to write with can be anything. (e.g. cosmetics, blood, etc) as long as it can write directly onto the note and remains as legible letters.

I can imagine some other erm, bodily fluids used for writing, but that's kinda scary....

In order to thwart Omni's plan of giving a sexual denotation to every discussion on the org, I will agree with him that writing in spit is indeed scary.

Except that spit wouldn't remain as legible letters really. When saliva dries it doesn't remain in terms of leaving a mark over time, wheras blood does.

As for changing the name, I don't have the volumes with me but I know soemwhere in there taht once you've written the full name down it's set in stone and cannot be changed or removed. However you can write part of a name to complete later or write the cause of death first and fill in a name later.

What if you had one of those tongue-coloring lollipops before spitting?

Besides, if all you want to do is kill the person, the spit only has to be legible for 40 seconds.

Not necessarily, taking the rule literally teh instrument has to be capable of remaining as legible letters, not just has to be on the paper for 40 seconds. So I would assume that salival will do nothing regardless.

So, I've watched eath note 1-30 these past few days, and overall I guess the Anime is okay. Although I do think the main character is full of himself to the point that's sickening.

The first few episodes were pretty dull, but at least Misao gave the whole serie a neat lift with her light mood and plane way of thinking.

I must say the 2nd opening cracked me up first time I saw it :P ROFL @ gengre-shift compared to the first opening.

It only gets worse, especially at the very end (at least in the manga). In fact, all three mistakes he makes along the series were caused by his overwhelming arrogance (yes, only three. I gues he's not totally wrong when he compares himself to God)

My greatest peeve with this show is that Misa doesn't get killed by drunken gangbangers.
