Izayoi is the name given to her in the third movie and is generally accepted by fans. She is, however, left unnamed throughout the TV series and (as far as I know) the manga.
I'm a bit of a stickler about things like this, especially considering some of the rather strange continuity holes in the Inuyasha movies.

Yes, I agree... movies always have few or no connection at all with the anime series and especially with the manga, where (you're right) Inuyasha's mother is left unnamed so far and it's the same for his father!Brigid wrote:Izayoi is the name given to her in the third movie and is generally accepted by fans. Anyway, I think I am supposed to ask next question, so let me think...
Who said to Kikyo that falling in love with somebody would have negatively affected her spiritual powers?
I don't know if this one is difficult or not but anyway in my timezone it's time to go to sleep... so please be patient if I'm not back for a while!

"dog demon"
It has been speculated that the 'yasha' part of his name derives from a word meaning female demon, which has sparked some rather odd discussions among fans. The reason Takahashi-san chose it, though, is apparently because it sounds rather wild and the meaning was close enough.
My turn to ask a question!
What is different about Sango's introduction episodes in the anime as compared to the manga?

Oh. I guess that was a pretty confusing question. ^^;
How's this for a reword: How was Sango's introduction changed for the anime (as in, how is it different from what happened in the manga)?
