This comment is the tipping point that got me to check this out, but I'm going to have to disagree. What was in the spoiler after that is what kinda makes me wanna continue this show, but I dunno...
you don't agree with that comment? I completely agree with it. Haruhi was a horrible leader. She sucked at strategy and tactics, she had very little concern about the well-being of her followers, and she very rarely helped the SOS brigade succeed at anything. It was always left to Kyon and Nagato to save the day.
Yuri on the other hand is at least a good sniper, and close range fighter. If a plan doesn't work, she's actually smart enough to change it, and she is a better leader than Haruhi could ever be.

On a side note, If Angel Beats ever gets a english dub......I actually wouldn't mind Wendee Lee (English Voice of Haruhi) doing it

Well, yeah. But it would be like taking Jason Voorhees out of Crystal Lake and putting him in the future on a spaceship and pumped up full of nanomachines. It may sound awesome, but it would turn out horrible. That's how I see it, at least. Or to put it simply, I don't think Yuri has what it takes to fill Haruhi's shoes.

I have to semi-retract my statement. Yuri seems to be fitting the Haruhi mold more as the show goes by. At this point I'm far more interested in Tachibana as a character. And as far as Haruhi goes, I don't hate her or anything, in fact I love her personality EXCEPT for the fact that she treats other people like dirt. She needs to listen to Kyon. Yuri treats people like dirt to less of an extent, but in the last couple of eps, she's done it more and more. :/
Spoiler :
Either way, with Angel Beats I am starting to mistrust both sides. Tenshi seems to have hidden motives for how she does things, or more how she doesn't react to things. Yuri seems to actually want people to move on. Could it be that secretly their roles are reversed? Yuri started her brigade in order to present enough angst to force people to move on? That her ultimate goal is to save people from being stuck in limbo? Is Tenshi just a bystander who won't move on, thus she became the enemy? Can't wait for ep 6 :O

Well, if you aren’t an angel alien, time traveler, or an esper, than your just a waste of Haruhi’s time. I think I’d be jaded if three years of my life of searching for the paranormal were unsuccessful.

I think I had too much time at work to think about this, but here's what I came up with
Spoiler :
I predict that everybody in the school is just a soul waiting to move on, quite possibly even the teachers/staff. And I predict that, as introverted (she seems to work indirectly) and independent (the fact she took the SSS members all by herself and the new president brought an army to bring the others to detention) as Angel is, in order for her to move on is to become a successful class president, and it is the class president’s duty to make sure the other students move on, or possibly an indirect side effect of the job.

One of the things that’s been bugging me, though, is that how Yui-Nyan knew about Hinata’s situation. Given their relationship, it doesn’t seem Hinata would tell Yui about his past, so I don’t see how Yui could interrupt his time to go, unless he was that obvious which it doesn’t seem so, to me, at least. It may be wishful thinking, but I think Yui may be wearing a paper thin disguise (the lil tail thing and the cut-off chains around her wrists) and we may have a third party involved here. But that’s just me.

The pacing of episode 6 was a little weird. Everything was slightly rushed, and it really felt like it should have been an hour long special. I would have loved to see the actual battle between the SSS and the new student council president. Also, the whole "your life is real. I acknowledge you" part seemed very rushed and over dramatic.

Anyway, I still love this series. I'm so glad that Mazui decided to sub this. I consider them to be one of the most reliable and consistently fast fansub groups around.

Episode 6 was alright. 'Found it a bit weird that Otonashi started hugging him, of all things. But hey, real men hug.
This show hasn't produced any tears from me other than from laughing so far. I really hope the ending is unexpected and at least make me cry a little bit (I love how nowadays I want Key anime to make me cry. xD)

I found the last scene kinda weird and forced as well, especially after what the kaichou did. I was kinda hoping somebody would kick his ass a bit before hugging him. And I felt bad for Yuri :/ Tenshi confirmed for Protoss. And I certainly like the laughing versus the HNNNGGGGG moments; after original Kanon I was a nervous wreck :P

I have been watching the show, and while my first ep reaction has since dwindled, I am not understanding all the raving.

After 6 eps, I have not seen why it is 'the thing to watch' as yet.

It's ok, but some of the 6 eps have hardly been 'great'.

Liked the music a lot in 03, but so far that has been the only ep I thought was worth mention.
Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.
