I was just doing a little research on the meaning of the name Dante (because I was kinda curious) and I found that its Latin and means "everlasting". I thought that was pretty fitting, considering the context (and deliberate on the creator's part I'm sure). I couldn't find much out about the name Hoenheim, except that its the name of a town in northern France and comes from the German words for "remains" and "height". But, yeah, fun hidden meanings. Thought you guys might find it interesting.

Dante makes sense,

heres something fun to know, if you rearrange Elric you get Relic, pretty weak but its a fitting last name, unfortunately though with Lust, you only get Slut :?

That was funny ( i didn't like the real her, the her in the manga, so yeah.. > > )

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hohenheim

Here's a lil info on Hohenheim.

Just for short, his name is also the name of a Swiss Alchemist and Physician originally named Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, but was renamed Paracelsus (1493-1541).^^;;

I'm gonna look up some more info on the other characters when i get the time to.^^

Yeah, you'll also find that in the end, Ed an' Hoho say a bunch of other famous people. My friend also saw the movie, and apparently it's rich with history of actual people.

Which is super sweet.
:cry: Out of all the Fullmetal Alchemist episodes, i'd say that it was the most depressing one....
(It got even more sadder for e when they showed Nina sleeping peacefully like before... )

What about in episode 25 when General Hughes was killed for knowing something he shouldnt have known about the military's Furer. At his funeral, his 4 year old daughter didnt even understand what was going on and she was crying because her Dad said he had alot of work to do and they were barrying him. Even Major Armstrong cried. Thats just my opinion though...

yeah, it was messed up because he could have actually gotten away if they were normal people, but at least he went out being a badass, unlike poor Yoki, and having Ed glancing good bye like that really added to the "good-bye", and there was one person there that was actually surprising and completely unnoticed.

It would have been nice if he had actually been brought back like i heard in the rumours.. > > But yeah, at least he went out like a badass, otherwise i woulda felt bad. I was really surprised to see that Hughes could even fight at all! He's always hiding away from all of the danger like a coward..and then, in the end, he really showed himself to be strong.. T.T

Yeah, i know what you mean.. > > (i missed that ep in on TV and got my friend to let me watch it in Japanese, and with Elicia's voice as kawaii as it is there (more than in the English version), it made it seem alot more sadder.. T.T)

The anime fell apart at around episode 27 or so.

The manga is so much better. Look it up. I hated the anime ending, it just got so stupid. Ah, no Lyra in the manga. :)
